A friend from Toronto is looking to spend some time in Vancouver, and is wondering where he can find some short to medium term rental for anywhere between 1-3 months. I can help him with recommendation for location, but I have no idea where these short to medium term rentals can be found.

I could recommend Craigslist, but I don't suppose that would be the best medium to use. Any suggestions from fellow RS-ers?

Craigslist is exactly what you should use. Not sure why you're opposed to it.

Craigslist is definitely the first thing I would turn to for regular term (eg. 1 year) rentals. But for these much shorter terms leases, I just wasn't sure it would still the place to look. I was hoping that there might be some sort of place that specializes in short term leases.

The only thing I could think of for short term would be for students (home stays) type of deal. But that goes specifically through schools.. =/

I have a feeling craigslist is going to be your best bet.
