Suggestions for a drive using a GoPro?

Just got a GoPro and would like to make a video of a scenic drive for YouTube. Anyone know of a good route in the Vancouver area? Anywhere between the border and the Sea to Sky highway. Thanks!

You answered you're own question.
- Start at the Border, catch the early sunset along the endless fields
- Reach the city to catch the city hustle n bustle
- Drift away from the traffic and enjoy the oceans on your left and mountains on your right.
- Don't drive it like a granny because no one will watch your video
- If you can, capture your engine revs cuz who doesn't love the sound of the 335?
- Have fun

Just make sure the GoPro's pointing at you and not towards the window.

you should make like a safety tether for your gopro if youre planning to have it on the outside.

Do this, or anything else to secure your camera. I lost a sony action cam at 70km/h and it was not a happy day.
(I should mention I was not using it in the action case, had it been in there I would have probably just had to replace the $30 case instead of the $300 camera).
Definitely get a microphone under the hood or above the muffler !

This. Amazing drive. Did the loop a month ago with my FRS. Took about 8 hours with a couple stops but highly recommend it.

My GoPro fell off my car within 2 hours of buying it at 80kph. Luckily I was able to retreive it and it only scratched the case.
damn wtf, we've been using it at the ridge with just the suction cup........

A bit off-topic, but...
I don't own a GoPro, but I watched the tether video. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the suction mount were to fail while you were driving at speed, wouldn't the camera then dangle from the tether and bang itself against any car around the tether point, fucking up the paint/bodywork?

The camera is super light. I don't think it would do any damage.

Maybe, maybe not..I'm not sure.
I just don't want to see your car with a big ding/scratches.
Just be careful lol

Yeah, ok. Maybe I can pad the camera a bit. I may just stick it on my windshield though. I have lots to research! Thanks!

A 3 GoPro setup would be pretty badass. One mounted in the middle behind the driver so you can see everything happening in the cockpit, one aimed backwards outside and one in front bumper.
Cut that shit together and you'll have your own Gumball video.

Be sure to mix it up an try different camera angles to keep it exciting, the lower the camera is to the ground the better the sense of speed will be. If your GoPro has wifi use the app to double check your angles but turn the wifi off after to save battery.
With regards to safety strings ALWAYS use one, if you're worried about the body get some wide masking tape and mask off the car anywhere the camera could swing if it fell off (keep the string short). When you do use the suction mount, ensure everything is clean and get the cup a bit wet to help it stick, also be sure you lock it down fully.
