It's shared hosting. Good luck having the CPU power to handle that.

Honest questions:
1. I'm interested in hosting a wedding website for a year. Will the cheapest plan work fine?
2. For pricing- if I choose 6months, does that mean I only have it for 6 months? Or does it mean I prepay for 6 months at a time and have to cancel it when I am finished. It doesn't seem too clear (to me at least).
Basically, I want to host the site for 13-14 months. I was just wondering how I would go about doing that (since there only seem to be options for 1/6 month then 1year+.

It would definitely be enough, as long as you're not planning on getting a ton of traffic, and are running sites that use a lot of resources
For pricing the first 6 months is 75% off. After that I believe you have to resubscribe at full price. In that case you might want to get the 45% off a 1 year plan instead.

Thanks Skinny- I'll put in an order this weekend.
Last question: are those first 2 add-ons necessary? The site is essentially just for information and a db in the back end to keep track of RSVPs.

Was the previous deal better for longer-term purchases?

It's rarely over 45% off either way, but this is a great deal for short term for sure

Bump for above question. No ecommerce on my planned site, but there will be a small db with emails and names. The add-ons are likely unnecessary? Cost really isn't an issue, but I'd rather not waste $20 if I don't need it.

I'd like to know as well. In my case, site will only have business address/directions and possibly email db for a newsletter.

Yep those are the two.
Anyways, didn't end up getting the add-ons. Thanks again Skinny for bringing this up. You just helped me knock off an item on my future wife's long to-do list for me lol

$15x.xx for 3 years isnt bad. Seeing as the cost for print media is in the $500-$600 range for a short period of time.

this promo is for 1 or 6 month terms only, but i'm sure they will have another promo during the holiday season.

45% off the 1/2/3 year terms. I'm pretty sure they will have more promos later on, but:
75% off - Hatchling @ 6 months is going to cost me $50ish.
45% off - Hatchling @ 36 months is going to cost me $50ish/year ($150ish/3year)
Makes sense to just go for the 36 months right? Plus less hassle of having to renew later on (im forgetful).

I would think so. You're getting the same "door-crasher 75%" deal over the 3 years.

Apologies for reviving an old thread but I have a quick question.
Anyone familiar with iDNS Canada and can chime in? Thanks!
Also is there a way to remove add ones from my package I purchased on July 2014? I have 2 addons which I want to remove from my website. Or do I have to pay the addons for the 3 years I originally signed on for before being able to drop them? Thanks
EDIT: updated post
July 2014: used RS link to make a website, signed for 3 years(renewal July 2017). Received email saying domain will expire in a couple of days(would be 1 year from purchase date).
December 2014: bought another site on a new account, signed for 3 years(renewal Dec 2017). Just receive physical letter from iDNS Canada "Domain Name Expiration Notice." It says the website domain I currently have will expire in December 2015. And the letter outlines the cost of getting my domain covered for 1/2/5 years for $40/70/160 respectively.
iDNS Canada is more expensive per year ($40) vs. paying for 1 year of domain on hostgator ($15)

What's the domain? You can check when it expires yourself
It may be possible that you bought the hosting package for 3 years but the domain only for 1 year. If that's the case, you can renew it anywhere - it doesn't have to be that shitty $40 place.
I'd recommend namecheap at $12 a year

Yea I checked both of the websites and I see that when you originally buy a package, you only can pay for 1 year of domain.
Any chance you know if you can remove add-ons from your account? I have 2 add-ons and I don't really want to renew those for the remaining 2 years of my package.

It should all be there in the admin area... Maybe somewhat hidden away so you might have to dig for it
