Unsure if this belongs in business/financial forum or not.. Anyways...

Small business is looking to keep up with the times and start going digital with customer, account info, and work orders etc

Any recommendations on software? Cost is obviously a factor. I realize I can create something in Excel but something more user friendly would be much better.

ZoHo CRM - free for 3 users and 5000 records.

ZoHo also offers other web tools like password manager, hosted mail (imap), and bunch of others.

What are your goals?

Generally, something like Zoho or Pipedrive will work for someone, but you need to consider other factors (e.g. integration with work orders, etc).

Also consider how big your business is. Sometimes excel might actually be better than going with an online solution.

There are a number of web-based solutions for this (basic PHP/MySQL, run on pretty much any web server), most of which are free, or free for a limited number of users... having something web-based means access from anywhere. My Synology NAS has several available as installable packages.
