i have an asus ultrabook
i'm pretty handy with computers but I've hit a brick wall
i replaced a cable ribbon and now I'm ready to put everything back
i'm stuck on the hinge area...i managed to get it to close 110-120 degrees but it won't budge any further...i've checked the cables near it and it's not getting in the way. It's not a popular laptop so no luck on youtube.

i'm guessing there's a failsafe that prevents you from hyperextending your screen. Does anyone know how I can 'reset' it so it'll close?

thanks.

look for a pin or otherwise that may have "clicked". I just recently replaced the screen on an Acer S3 and the hinge - when not screwed into the chassis, required a LOT of force to move.

Note: the pin MAY be tucked under the screen housing

post up a picture + Model#, I'll take a look and see if I see anything you may have missed

took the hinge completely out of the laptop to better assess it...reversed it with two plyers and looked under the loupes, fair enough it was upside down!
