On the weekend fucked up a buddies truck and got the fender caught between a tree down some logging road. Obviously from the pics you can see the paint is in bad shape so really just care about pulling the dents out of possible

What do you guys think is the best approach? Should I just go to a body shop and have them work on it or is the paintless method available for this? I know it's kind of hard to tell from the pics but the body is really just "pushed in" it's not creased or anything. What you guys think? Any recommendations?

Anyone with any body work experience have any idea what ballpark cost would be?

Anyone with even a remote level of experience should be able to pull that pretty close to straight in about no time.

PDR guys might charge you like $100?

Go grab a suction cup (the once from home depot for lifting glass), get your buddy to push on the dent from the inside, and you pull on it from the outside using the suction cup. You could probably pop it out yourself by doing that.

No offence but on a bush truck like that is it really worth spending a couple of hundred on to fix a dent? Something tells me your buddy would prefer a couple cases of frosty cold beverages than a dent on his old bush truck fixed.

It's a shitty scenario cause it's not really a bush truck yet it's just in rough shape lol..but yea I just offered to at least enquire about the fixes we will see what happens

Just make sure they can do it without drilling a hole in the panel to get tools in. Most dealer ones I've seen just rubber plug it and await rust.

uh Paintless Dent Removal is different from a bodyshop. you have to go to a pdr specialist and they charge significantly more labour per hour. they mostly work on exotics or classic cars.

So just take it to a body shop and let them hammer it out? As opposed to the PDR?

rubber hammer on the inside of the wheel well, its not all that bad and wont look perfect but better then paying someone and like you said its a bush truck look and would never waste good beer or wheeling money to fix a dent that's going to happen again.

I'd talk to PDR places first, they might be able to do it for less if you can pull the fender or at least remove the fender liner to save them time.

The fellow that does work for us doing PDR on out lot cars is very reasonable. He quoted me $80 to do three dents on the Supra (left front fender small dent, on the crease of the hatch where it lifts up for the spoiler and on the right roof line). Guy does great work.

Call around to some guys and they will often come look and give you a quote on the job if they are in the area.

Most of the PDR guys have been referring me to body shops

Anyone ever dealt with Dent King? They do PDR as well as have a body shop, thinks he could probably get it to within 90%

The one we use is Dents Unlimited in Langley. They have a mobile service that comes to us. Great work.

Never used Dent King.

Dents unlimited in Port Moody. They took a dent out on the quarter panel without drilling a hole. Advice, to get a second opinion.

Pretty much the approach I was alluding to in my post; however due to the size of the dent I think he will need a bigger suction cup than a go pro, and getting an extra hand on the inside to push outwards would also be beneficial.

As for PDR people, I have witnessed the work of this guy:

DentStar Services | Paintless Dent Repair | Lower Mainland | Home (http://www.dentstar.ca)

And he does really good work. He's mobile as well. Does work for a lot of the dealers in the Northshore automall.
