i have been using a western digital my book live external hard drive as a media server on a home wifi network.
i have an old LG blu-ray wifi player that is able to stream directly from the hard drive over the network.
lately it's started to skip while playing dvd's so i went and bought a new LG wifi player, but this time it cannot see the hard drive over the the network.
so i went back to the store and they sold me a sony model with ethernet option and the same thing happened again. i even tried plugging the hard drive directly to the sony and still nothing (the LG only has a USB port). but when i go back to the LG it sees the hard drive just fine....
i tried some online forums on sony but didn't get a response back. i haven't been able to find a LG forum... might anyone here know what is going on? :confused:
