You don't apply for the pre-paid card. The promotion is confusing, I know.

Once you download the app, there is an "Add Pre-paid Mastercard" option within the app.

You're essentially just adding the already pre-loaded mastercard that is already in the app. You simply have to activate it.

So there is no need to apply for anything. Just download the app, open it, then "add the card".

activated the sim via rogers website, downloaded the suretap app and registered.
I was told by rogers to wait for confirmation of registration before "downloading/adding" the credit card to the app. That may have been causing delays with the prepaid card.

Apparently you can use the credit towards your rogers bill as well.

What he said is definitely bull. Click on the link I have in the first post. It says clearly that the SIM is free, not just shipping is free.

Don't know whether it should officially be free in the store, but certainly many people have been getting it for free.

It's only free if you apply for it online. In the store you have to pay for it.

But, some people have been reporting that you may be able to get a credit from Rogers if you called in.

Again, Rogers doesn't have to give it to you for free in store. Unless they are a corporate store, then they'll likely give it to you. Otherwise, no.

Yeah, I called in and got mine for free. The person told me it would take ~7 bus. days to get to me, but I got it in 2 days. Still haven't gotten the $100 credit though...

x2. Tried that for a few days and reinstalling the app...kept getting the same error. Phoned Rogers and they told me to stop trying and escalated it and said i'd get a call within 2 weeks. Got a call the next day and they said i have some "blackberry data block" on my phone (haven't had a blackberry for a couple years) that may be affecting it so they removed that. Still having the same issue so will be calling Rogers again tomorrow.

I'm using a Note 2 and another friend using the same phone is having the same issue, while a friend with Note 3 had no issues setting it up.

Haven't had luck with phones that arent listed on the site. They said they need to tweak the software for each different phone. And they are working through the list of phones they sell for suretap compatibility, so phones such as the Oneplus One will never be on the compatible list because Rogers will never carry that phone.

Although there may have been reports of wizards from rfd getting phones to work which are not on the list. I haven't seen any concrete evidence yet.

it finally worked for me. I contacted them via email and after 3 days they finally emailed me back that things should work now. I initially couldnt register and the guy told me to uninstall Suretap and reinstall it.

You activate the Prepaid mastercard then $100 will be automatically loaded into your balance.

tried it at dimsum (golden swan on victoria), pizza hut, purdy's at metrotown, mcdonald's, so far so good.

it seems to have an issues when you line up the top of the phone to the top of the debit terminal machine. one thing i changed was that i put the center of my phone on top of the screen of the terminal.

also, i've found that it almost doesn't ever work when you have the timer counting down already before you put your phone over the terminal. try putting the phone on the terminal first before pressing the "pay now" button.

all of this works fine with a thick ass spigen case on an s5.

It's quite glitchy to be honest. I've had it not work a few times at places it used to work. :failed:

make sure your nfc is on and your pressing pay now on the app. I also took off my battery door from my note 3 and rubbed the back on the check-out machine. worked perfectly! :fuckyea:

They only take their own pc brand and td. Not sure if she meant credit card or debit by that. I asked her if it's the entire superstore chain like that and she said yes. Don't buy prepaid Mastercards or Visas because of the extra fee... just buy gift cards.

She probably just doesn't know what she's talking about. If they accept their own PC Mastercard, they accept all Mastercards.

Just worked for me on an s3. Said pending for about an hour, then failed. Tried again and it worked within 15 mins.

Wow. I finally figured out why I've been having such problems trying to use suretap.

For the Note 2, the NFC component is actually on the back cover, and I've been using a replacement back cover that doesn't have the NFC component.

Never thought I'd need the original back cover for NFC to work. Mind blown.
