i will say im very excited. episode 1-3 were so off putting to me that really the franchise can only go up up up! also, somewhat against popular opinion, i loved what disney did with tron legacy. they know how to make great movies from sci-fi to pirates of the caribbean.

This. I think especially with Disney's leadership of Marvel they are going to do good things with Star Wars... the good news is that George Lucas is "stepping back" from leading things so the films will only get better. I found him to be really heavy-handed and IMO not as good a director as evidenced by the prequel trilogy

that lightsaber hilt is getting a lot of hate lol

Compare this teaser to Jurassic World... It's insane how one series revival can get it so right, while the other gets it so wrong. Then again we're talking Disney/Marvel/JJ Abrams here. They know wtf they're doing when it comes to this stuff.

11-28-2014, 05:05 PM
the hilt aint new.. its shown an appearance a few times in comics and tv shows.. is the hilt gonna really sway you away from seeing it? probably not. shut up about it already..

SkinnyPupp
11-29-2014, 07:55 AM
I don't understand the complaints. It's not like a normal hilt can stop a light saber. You need a light saber hilt. Makes sense to me! Plus it looks like a fucken claymore

Is there a story line, info to read online about how it all fits together?

The hilt would make for nice light saber duels, I think. Imagine parrying an attack and extending the hilt for a head strike.

Yes this happens after the 6th episode. I read somewhere there are 12 or 15 in total. Man, we're all going to be so old when they're finally all released. Even then, I think they'll keep going with the story.

All the "expanded universe" has been "revoked" by Disney. I think anything that happens after Episode VI is wiped until the next movies come out. Anything that happened around Episode I such as current comics and cartoons still count.

So when you go to see Episode VII, you'll be seeing it with eyes as fresh as the hardest core Star Wars nerd. Because everything they know about never really happened.

In concept, it would make for cool duels. And I agree, it's kinda cool...

The problem is in the design of the lightsaber hilt. The right angle the hilt creates with the blade on a traditional longsword is meant to protect the hand when your opponent's blade slides down towards your hand, and is stopped by the hilt.

But if you look (not even) closely, that right angle is made from the base/handle itself, and not the light blade. So if the opponents light saber slid down the blade towards your hilt, it would simply lop off one side of the hilt, and possibly your hand.

i'm watching the livestream right now and they said a)mark hamill is doing the voiceover (but we don't know who he's talking to), and b)wookies have a long lifespan. he was 200 years old when return of the jedi came out, and what we see now is supposed to be around 30 years later.

Details of the plot for 2016's "Star Wars: Rogue One" were revealed during a panel at Star Wars Celebration fan festival Sunday in Anaheim, California.

Director Gareth Edwards ("Godzilla") showed an early teaser for the movie and revealed plot details for the "Star Wars" anthology film (the term Disney prefers instead of "spinoff"), starring Felicity Jones.

The movie will take place in between "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Episode IV: A New Hope" (known to many as the first "Star Wars" movie from 1977).

I don't think I've ever been this stoked for a movie before. Not just that the trailers are brilliant because they show just enough to give an idea of what they're doing without spoiling too much, but that what they ARE doing looks brilliant. It's not a shitty CGI fest like most action movies these days, and of course the 3 modern SW movies.

I've know I've been excited for movies in the past, but I can't recall one trailer actually getting me this excited. I am, admittedly, a little jaded about new Star Wars movies, considering the excitement I originally felt before the first prequel came out, but I think JJ can help ease those painful memories.

One thing I've noticed is that there's no Luke Skywalker in any of the trailers or movie posters. Makes you wonder why that is...

Luke Skywalker has to be there somewhere. Hans Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia are all there, and we know Mark Hamill was involved with filming as well. I'm sure we'll see him.

George Lucas, when planning the three trilogies, had always maintained that they would all follow the Skywalker lineage. The prequel was about Padme and Anakin, the original series was about Luke and Leia, and presumably the sequels will be about Luke and/or Leia's kids.

So, with that in mind, here are my predictions for the film:

- Rey, while not a blood relative to any of the Skywalkers, is Force sensitive and possibly an apprentice or apprentice-to-be for Luke

- Kylo Ren will likely be someone's kid, most likely Han and Leia. Wanted to be trained by Luke, but was denied due to a fascination with Nazi paraphernalia and a desire to keep Hitler's picture on his bedside table. Some how got wrangled in with the Knights of Ren, who helped encourage him in the Dark Side. Luke may have freaked out and went full Yoda by hiding out somewhere, possibly protecting some important symbolic artefact (Vader's lightsaber?)

- Combine those last two together, and there will be some animosity towards Luke and Han. My thought is that Han will some how sacrifice himself (it's been well documented that Harrison Ford originally wanted Han to die at the end of ROTJ and I suspect very few things would have allowed him to come back for another film if it didn't end that way), allowing Rey and Finn to survive an encounter with Kylo.

It's better to torrent the despescialized editions. These versions removed all of George Lucas' bullshit re-cuts and add-ins. They are the closest thing you can find for an HD experience as the films were meant to be seen. I watched all 3 of them this past weekend :fullofwin:

In case anyone is interested, IGN seems to have stitched all the footage that has been released so far into a single, continuous, and seemingly related clip:

Strung all together, it really gives a more complete perspective on things.

"I will fulfill our destiny, to finish what you started." Maybe Luke was actually sad he didn't get to rule the galaxy as father and son like his daddy wanted. Luke's slide to the dark side was very obvious in Revenge of the Jedi (that's what it was supposed to be called) if you watch for it. I very much hope that is Luke under the mask.

It's a shame the first 2 are so brutal. I read a funny article about Jar Jar actually being a force user. I don't believe it but amusing non the less.

Machete Order. There is one other option, suitable for old and new viewers alike, known as Machete Order. Popularized by blogger Rod Hilton, Machete Order involves watching the original Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back first, then watching the prequels before finishing it all off with Return of the Jedi (so that’s 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6). This introduces you to the universe through the original trilogy, but cuts it off after the cliffhanger in Empire Strikes Back—at which point you “flash back” to the prequels to see how Darth Vader came to be Darth Vader, before returning to the final chapter of the original trilogy for a nice, neat ending.

Just finished watching it in Pitt Meadows... they were the only theatre that still had AVX seats for tonight when I bought my tickets.

Such a great movie IMO, brought back so many feels and memories of watching the original 3 movies with my dad when I was a little kid. If this is any indication of the rest of the trilogy, it's going to be a fun ride, already miles ahead of episodes I-III.

There were many many phenomenal moments in the movie, but there were also some very weak points, they were outnumbered by the awesome moments though.

The movie felt very rushed to be honest, especially the second half, and more so near the ending... They really wanted to cram a lot into it, it felt like the movie could be split into two or three on its own just to flesh everything out.

Overall the movie felt like a copy of 'A New Hope' but that's not a bad thing

one thing that really bothers me about the film, and it's a spoiler so don't look if, you know... you haven't seen it

LIKE SERIOUSLY MAJOR FUCKING SPOILERit has to do with Han Solo's death... it was so undramatic and Chewy didn't seem to give a damn except to fire off 1 shot and continue with the mission... and later on when they return to base he just walks past Leia like 'i dont know you bitch...' and the person to have that hug-fest over Han is Rey and Leia? wtf???? it's as if Chewy and Han weren't part of the movie and Han was just a random stormtrooper that died...

I was expecting Chewy to rig a pulley with his crossbow and head down that shaft to look for Hans body to bring back to Leia, or give him a proper burial, or to check if maybe he survived... like Luke when he lost his arm and fell down that giant shaft..

it really didn't do Han justice nor Han and Chewy's relationship

Maybe I'm reading way too much into the movie. But when Kylo Ren interrogates her using the force, I got a feeling, based on Rey's behaviour for the rest of the movie, that she, as a consequence of Kylo Ren jedi-minding her, regained her memory. I also got a feeling, that when Leia meets Rey, Leia seems like she's noticing something. Ergo, my theory is: Leia feels the force when she meets Rey and deduces that Rey is Luke's daughter. Rey regains her memory during the interrogation, hence how she screams at Kylo Ren that he'll never be as powerful as Vader. Also why she's so upset when Han dies, and why she hugs Leia upon her return. When Rey finally climbs up all the steps and sees Luke, it also felt like they knew who each other was already, no surprised expressions or anything. I think Episode VIII will open with the reveal that Rey has her memory back and Luke is her dad

Y wings were old and slow at ANH. Add 20 years? likely outclassed by anything new. The even the new Xs are new variants, T-70 vs the T-65 of the originals. I'm glad they kept that the same from the EU, where the X's really did become the standard multirole fighter. Also, you show anyone an x wing nowadays, Star wars. Y wing? you need to be older or know sci-fi to recognize it.

Some how managed to get today off work, so I'm loading up my Kindle Paperwhite with the Thrawn origin novel, Outbound Flight. Haven't read it yet and, while I know it's no longer canon, I need something to pass the time before my showing starts tonight.

Just came back from watching the movie, and without giving anything away, all I can say is, I am left absolutely awestruck.

If spoilers are A-OK now, here are my 2 bits:

In honest truth, I was too awestruck / devastated after Hans was taken out to notice too much of what is going on, and I agree the aftershock wasn't handled well at all. No disturbance in the force? No shot cutting back to Rey or Leia about feeling any disturbance at all? WTF?! :yuno:

As I sat down watching the credits afterwards, it suddenly came back to me that this is not the first time Captain Solo was taken out. Is he gonna come back just like he did before? Obviously, I have no idea, but it is what I am going to believe -- that somehow, Captain Solo is gonna come back. It won't make any sense, but he is gonna come back. :tears:

Last spoiler question -- is Finn at all in tune with the Force? My gut feeling tells me no, but I could be convinced otherwise if there are valid suggestions of him being so.

Awesome movie. I was a little nit picky about the minor things like everyone said in the spoilers. But also...

Captain Phasma. Lovin the chrome suit and all...

But what the fuck did she do in the movie. No action sequence whatsoever.

I was expecting a Boba Fett type character or at least some worth while fighting s

scene from her. But nope.

Garbage Compactor is good nuff for her.

OK, here is another spoiler I can't hold back -- it's really bugging me so I gotta let this one out too:

Kylo Ren is such a disappointment in the movie. The trailers lead you to think he is badass, but what did he fxxking turned out to be? Some fxxking immuature, socially awkward crybaby that throws a temper tantrum whenever things don't go his way. He even looks the part for the shut-in whiny teen that he is.

He ways with the Dark Side is also weaksauce, failing to extract anything useful out of Poe Dameron or Rey. As a matter of fact, every time he tries to use the Dark Side powers on Rey, it ends up backfiring on himself. So pathetic that it was a complete let down.

After Hayden Christensen's failed attempt as Anakin, I didn't think it was possible to have a more disappointing character using the Force, but Kylo Ren definitely took this pathetic-ness to a whole new level.

Traum:

Full disclosure I watched the movie in HK. That said:

Leia did feel something when Han was killed. She grabbed her heart and sat down right after in the command center.
Kylo, while disappointing, was portrayed to be a padawan/sith apprentice. Not a full blown Jedi. That's why he couldn't do everything we're accustomed to. It allows us to see arc from student to teacher for the Sith side, as we've seen multiple times for Jedi over the 6 movies. He couldn't get anything out of Rey for obvious reasons, but he did get that the map was in BB-8 from Poe. That's why they went back to Jakku to look for the droid.

My one irk was probably that Rey was so far and away the most Force-sensitive character without being a Jedi, seemingly out of nowhere.

Great movie. It definitely wasn't without faults, though there are precious few of movies that exist, but still a good movie.

MAJOR SPOILERS INSIDE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Okay, I had predicted Solo was going to be the one that would die, and that turned out to be true. I'm alright with that, especially if it's going to be in a heroic way. And, I guess it kinda was. Trying to win his son back from the Dark Side is admirable and all that. However, it just didn't quite seem to have quite that "moment" I would have expected. Based on the trailers, I had kinda expected Han would have been the one to intercept Kylo from killing Rey and that's where I thought he would fall. Personally I think that would have been a bit better of a death for Han Solo and would likely have fit his character a bit better. I also have to echo the sentiments about Chewie. I would have expected him to blow the detonators and then go bezerk on anyone nearby. Again, seems like that would have been more inline with his character.

Also, Captain Phasma... not quite sure what to make of her. I'm sure she'll play some bigger part in the later movies, but it just seemed odd to have a character like her in the movie when all her lines could have been said by a random stormtrooper.

Lastly, I think Starkiller base should have simply been disabled at the end of the movie and not destroyed. In a movie that echoed Episode IV very strongly, having yet another massive Empire weapon destroyed was a little ho-hum.

All that aside, and they're more or less nitpicks than anything else, it was still a great movie. I did like how they didn't introduce Luke until the very end of the movie. There were already so many main characters that having even just one more would have made it feel too crowded on screen. I think JJ captured the essence of the original trilogy, even if it was a little derivative, and brought it up to modern times.

There were definitely some nostalgic moments to be had, and a manly tear or two may or may not have been shed.

I didn't like how everyone and their dog could just pick up a lightsaber and start fighting with it... from the original trilogy, i always had that feeling that light sabers were a real jedi only weapon, and you'd pretty much chop your arm off if you tried to use one without the force

Re Freakshow:

Turning it on without knowledge of the force is not a problem for me -- I mean, if there is an ON/OFF switch, you just press a button, and Voila~! It turns on, right? I don't recall anywhere in SW saying that you need to channel the Force (through yourself and) into the lightsaber to fire it up, is there?

Additionally, I don't think anyone can really just pick up a lightsaber and start fighting with it effectively without prior training and knowledge with the force. It is quite obvious to me that (at least up to this point), Finn is not a user of the Force, and his fighting shows his lack of skill and knowledge of the Force.

Rey, on the other hand, has already shown herself to be a skillful fighter with her staff in prior fights. By the time she is wielding the lightsaber against Kylo Ren, the Force has already awaken in her, so it is sort of OK for her to use it with some skill. Defeating Kylo Ren despite being so green with the Force is also sort of OK since Kylo Ren is so weak sauce.

Just finished watching...dunno if I can sleep rightaway tonight.
Perfect timing too, I just finished rewatching the old trilogy two days ago.

I gotta say JJ did the series good. That was my biggest worry coming in, that he'd bastardize the series. But there was so much nostalgia ingrained even in the details. I was too lost in nostalgia to really notice flaws...definitely gonna grab me a copy and rewatch a few times.

Just some questions/thoughts that the movie left me with after watching it last night.

- Really hope Captain Phasma comes back in the next film and plays a larger role. She was supposed to be this big bad ass and ended up doing practically nothing. All the parts in the film she was in could have just been done by any other regular stormtrooper

- The Han Solo death scene was really well done. I kinda knew once he started walking onto that bridge that this might be it for him, but Adam Driver's acting left me with some doubts about that. Also thought Chewy was gonna go out guns blazing after seeing Han's death.

- Who's the old dude in the beginning who gives Poe the remaining piece of the map for the location of Luke? By appearances alone he reminded me of Obi-wan from A New Hope

- Who are the clones that Kylo Ren was threatening to bring in to replace General Hux's Stormtroopers

Totally agree! I had a lot of faith in Abrams going in, I really liked what he did with Star Trek, but a little ways in I was starting to worry that it might turn into some generic sci-fi story in a Star Wars wrapper with a bunch of really forced references to try to make it work.

As it turned out, those fears were unfounded - this really FELT like a continuation of the original story. The references and nods to the originals worked well, without seeming cheesy or heavy-handed (as much as I like Star Trek Into Darkness, it really danced on that line). Things happened pretty much as I think they should have.

My one big remaining question/quandry now is...

The one thing that felt a little heavy-handed was in trying to lead us to think Luke may be Rae's father. I mean, that would be the most obvious thing, right? Especially when you're throwing in plot points to reinforce that concept. And remember in the one trailer, Luke's voiceover of "The Force is strong in my family..."?

I SERIOUSLY hope all of that is a classic JJ misdirection tactic, because having it turn out that Luke really is Rae's father would be so fucking "DUH!"... like, that's something I'd expect out of the prequel trilogy - no subtlety at all.

On the plus side... NO FUCKING MIDICHLORIANS! :fuckyea:

The Hans Solo death scene was really devastating for me. I was already getting bad vibes as soon as he decided to walk out. As the conversation unfolds, my gut feeling had me increasingly convinced that Kylo Ren was going to kill Hans. At the same time, I remember myself desperately analyzing Kylo Ren's words and actions in my head, hoping he wouldn't do it, thinking of ways to interpret how he might just be struggling to return to the Light Side. But for the whole while, I knew my wishful thinking was all futile. And then it happened.

The scene was very well done. You see it coming. You don't want it to happen. But you can't stop it from happening. You can't not watch. And then it happened. :tears:

Great movie all around. Yes, we could dissect it into itty bitty pieces and talk about what it could have been and while I agree with most of the spoilered posts, the movie very much delivered IMO. Great nostalgia, not too much new stuff to take away from the feel of the SW universe, amazing visuals and sounds that are updated but again, still stay true to Star Wars. I think J.J. Abrams nailed it and there's plenty more to come!

He also uses it against Ben's remote on the way to Alderaan, having zero training in the Force at that point, and nobody dies or gets maimed. He's swinging it around just fine, not actually using the Force at all until Ben puts the helmet on him and forces (yok yok) him channel it.

I didn't think there was any part that really screamed "this is way better in 3D!" The air battle sequences were kinda trippy, but nothing particularly took advantage of the medium. You won't be missing out any of the story by watching it "flat".

For me, biggest reason to go AVX is the reserved seating and not having to stand in line for hours to get the seat you want. But then for an extra $5 you can go VIP and get the full pampering experience :)

This movie is absolutely everything I could have wanted in a new Star Wars movie. I loved it.

To the people complaining about certain characters, remember that this is the first in a trilogy, and there will be a character arc throughout.

The whole point is that Kylo Ren feels weak and insignificant compared to his grandfather, to the point where he mimics his mask and voice. This comes out in violent outbursts, like a shitty spoiled little child who doesn't get his way. He has control over the force, but uses it mostly to bully people around, and is obviously being used as a pawn by Snokes. He then gets his ass kicked by a relative rookie, and now he failed at catching Luke.

Now he'll come back with a vengeance, and we'll see his character get stronger and more threatening.

Does anyone think Episode VII is "borrowing" too much from the previous movies? While I totally agree that the movie is absolutely fantastic, for the whole time while I was watching it, I couldn't help but think that from characters to scenes settings to plot, a whole lot of stuff is either a direct ripoff from the previous movies, or a re-hashed version from the old movies.

Kylo Ren -- His entrance is a direct ripoff of Darth Vader. I can let this one go since he is practically a Darth Vader otaku.

Poe Dameron -- Poe is 1/2 Luke, 1/2 Solo. The 1/2 Luke part comes from his "Resistance ace pilot" bit, and the 1/2 Solo comes from the rogue-ish bits that he tries to play up / mimic when he is not flying.

Poe's initial map retrieval mission -- This is a new spin on Obi Wan's solo mission to Kamino. The map retrieval idea is practically the same as in Episode IV when Princess Leia gave R2-D2 the Death Star plans to deliver.

The FN-2187 deserting idea is new, I'll give them that.

Rey picking up BB-8 in a desert when he was about to be taken for scrap metal... Now where have I seen that before? [/sarcasm]

Maz cantina... Han shot first...?

Rey gets captured by Darth Va... wait, or was that Princess Leia getting captured by Kylo Ren? I'm so confused...

Kylo Ren removes mask... Yes, I think I've seen another black armour dude removing his mask before too... So they've added a twist this time with Kylo Ren removing his mask to talk to Rey.

The young male lead going into First Order territory with a sage old hero. Did I say First Order or Galactic Empire? Was it John Boyega going in with Sir Alec Guinness? Man... I'm so confused.

Sir Alec Guinness dies from confronting Darth Vader... I mean, Kylo Ren. No, I mean, the elderly Han Solo confronting Darth Vader wannabe. What?

Death Star is about to fire. Wait... which episode am I talking about here?

Rebel briefing before the attack... Resistance briefing before the attack... Princess Leia is in both of them. Does she even remember herself doing this before?

The assault on the Death Star... I can take the canyon fly down as paying homage to Episode IV, but the entire plot is basically the same.

Finn gets critically wounded from fighting Kylo Ren, and leave us wondering how he'll return in the next episode... Captain Solo gets carbonite frozen by Darth Vader, leaving us wondering how he'll come back in the next episode... Hmm...

Kylo Ren gets knocked out and severely wounded by Rey, and is left to his own accord in a harsh icy environment. Darth Anakin gets his limbs chopped off by Obin Wan in a lava pit. Icy world. Lava pit... 2 sides of the same coin?

Luke Skywalker becomes the new Obi Wan. Does exactly the same thing by going into hiding. Dresses exactly the same. Like master, like padawan?

Originality? Yay~!

Quick question for you, Da Chinese Dude, have you watched the movie yet? If you haven't, why don't you go watch it, think about my rant, and come back to discuss it with us? If you have already watched, do you think any part of my rant is incorrect?

For what it is worth, I enjoyed Episode VII tremendously.
But it does strike me that too many things are direct ripoffs and re-hashes from the previous movies.

I enjoyed the prequels for what they are. I didn't mind them being different from the originals because I understood that in the prequel time frame, the SW universe was enjoying some relative peace, whereas in the originals' time frame, the SW universe was going through some really dark and oppressive times. You'd expect the atmosphere to be different.

The prequels were terrible in the sense that the acting and especially the dialogues were horrid. The CG was very pretty, but acting in a lot of green chroma key backgrounds negatively affected the actors and that results showed.

Yay~!

Not really spoilers but I'll hide them anyway.

Star Wars has always been about stereotypes. If you think about it, the original trilogy was basically a medieval fairy tale with your very basic stereotypes. There's the green hero from a basic background, the wizard who helps him train, a princess in distress, the unwilling rogue who gets caught up, and the big baddie. Sure, the prequels tried to flesh out some of the characters, but the formula still remained mostly the same. Its good vs evil, dark, vs light. It's not like Daredevil or The Wire, where there's turmoil in the antagonist and he's simply struggling to get back and just happened to choose the wrong path. And in that sense, I think that's where Kylo Fan's character will change the Star wars formula. I have no doubt he'll be redeemed at some point after some sort of internal struggle.

Does TFA recycle some of the same plot points from the OT? Sure. I'll admit that It was a little jarring at times, but within this universe I think it works. You have to have someone in peril, you have to have a battle strategy being formulated because otherwise it just seems to jump cut too much, you have to have some big baddie, etc etc. It's not like Star Trek where there are already a ton of bad guys and plots you can pick from. Something new has to be created or borrowed from. As much as I would have loved to see someone like Thrawn introduced, his book plot wouldn't translate well to the big screen universe. Maybe as a tv series, but not a two hour movie.

I dunno. I'm sure the next two films will have something different. This was simply a good way to get old and new fans alike to rejoin the Star Wars universe.

Massive plot spoiler rant:

The FN-2187 deserting idea is new, I'll give them that.

No way, it's a total Stargate rip-off!

:tears:

I felt the same way. Somehow I just knew that was it for Han. I got that hint when Leia was telling him to try to reach out to their son...and the bridge scene pretty much confirmed it for me. You just knew only one of them was walking out of there.

I had chills in my spine seeing the Falcon and X-wings fly around but that scene, man, it made my heart drop. Even though you anticipate it...it still surprises you. Goddamn it Han, it's a trap!

Watched it yesterday with my dad and I loved it. There were numerous moments where I nearly cried tears of joy. I have also managed to forget that episodes 1-3 ever existed.

I tried to avoid spoilers, but some jerk posted a picture with the words "Han solo dies, killed by his son Kylo Red" as a Facebook comment. :flamemad:

Massive plot spoiler rant:

I also noticed the numerous similarities to the original trilogy, but I don't have any issues with that. Those of us that grew up in the 80s, we're already hooked; we would've watched it regardless. Instead, these movies were made for the next generation of Star Wars fans (i.e. our kids) and based on Episode 7, they are in for a treat!

Anyone see episode 8's IMDB page noticeably not including a certain villain...

Star Wars: Episode VIII (2017) - IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2527336/)

I am assuming this is because he will be training? Benicio will be another Sith Lord?

i actually liked adam driver as the villian. i thought he was great, and a nice change of pace from the typical villian. His character is still developing and will most likely keep changing over the next few movies

My guess is Del Toro will not be a force sensitive character and will likely be a more conventional baddie. At least, that's my hope. I'm all for Sith this and Dark Side that, but it would be nice to have someone else hunting down the good guys. Maybe he's an assassin or bounty hunter looking for Luke.

Or maybe he's an older Boba Fett... :drunk:

Slightly off topic, but should we keep this thread as the sole sequel trilogy thread or just have a new one for each movie? I'm sure rumours will start flying soon about Ep8 and some of us will want to talk about it.

I'm kind of surprised that they are handing off directing duties for EPs 8 and 9. Even Star Trek got JJ twice.
