Only problems ive had with the car so far, valve cover gaskets, did myself in an hour for 100$, and the abs computer, which is only costing me 200$ to repair. Louis vuttion interior is gone!! it is not black. And I love it. Haters gon hate. Lets hear what you have to say to the 16 year old who has no idea what he is talking about ;)

At 16 years old, I hope you have a strong mechanical drive or a really good job and the willingness to let go of money. As time slowly passes and you put more kilometers on the car, you'll start running into the normal cost of maintenance for a "luxury" vehicle.

Probably why "the 50%" recommended to stay away, as many of us rather not deal with the costs of "luxury" vehicles.

I owned an Audi. I spent $10-12k in 2 years for just maintenance.

So what if he bought a 7 series after majority told him not to, FCK I did the same thing and I don't regret it. I drove my share of bmws and benzs and half of them made me hate German cars but I still don't regret the experience of owning one. If he's lucky enough to get a good e38, than let him enjoy it. Yes his rims are kinda tacky but when I was 17, I was rolling around in a tahoe on 24s and to me it was the shit. Now I look back and shame myself for it but that's because my taste changed over time. Kids still young, no need to deter him from posting here where he can get some more advice and what not. Who knows if this car might be the 7 that ends up looking better than the rest of our cars

I dont think it is a surrey jack mobile at all. I took off the gay 22 inch rims, got rid of the LV interior, and turned my 3 12 inch subwoofers down all the way, LOL. If you consider my car a surrey jack mobile then you might aswell consider every other modified e38 out there a surrey jack mobile. I am going for a certain look i have in my head with my car.

When it comes to fixing my shit, I will post on a e38 enthusiast facebook page i am in, everyone there is nicer than my damn grandma and they are probably the nicest group of car guys I have ever seen.

I plan on going lower, and the alpina badge is not there for no reason, I plan on slowly converting it to an alpina E38.

Alternatives I was looking into, a 2002 s500 Benz, a 2004 BMW z4, and an 04 540I. But i stuck to what i told myself and bought myself my favorite car, the e38. And not a single dollar of my parents money has gone into this car, I have about 10 grand into it total. But I recently cancelled my insurance so I can start saving for a year for when I get my N. Had it insured for 5 months under my dads name while having my L so I could drive it. But I paid every dollar.

Good for you being 17 and driving around in a e92 theyre great cars, im sure you enjoy burning your mommy and daddys gas while you drive it.
