Will be having my car have some work done by a autobody shop. I have a dashcam, can I just leave it in there and have it on? Or will they most likely turn it off? Can I request for it to not be touched?

I've had a few customers of mine at my shop with dash cams. I don't really care and sometimes I goof around infront of the cam lol. As long as the shop is doing good work, they should have nothing to hide. I'm not afraid of having customers in with active dash cams :)

Remove memory card and put meatspin.mp4 on it.

I think if a shop specifically turned the dash cam off it would raise a red flag...

just don't tell them. i was reviewing some of my dash cam footage and found a technician talking shit about me. never once met him before and i was super polite when i came in for my scheduled maintenance. i have something to share with him upon my next visit.

Heres the way I see it. Dashcam is left on during short visits but frankly I dont want to go thru the time to charge your battery because its left on all day or more so on long jobs I unplug them. If you didnt trust me you wouldnt bring your car to me. I havent had anyone complain.
