decent portable Bluetooth speaker?

Looking for a good portable speaker that offers good sound. Doesn't have to be room filling sound tho. Just not something that distorts and crackles too easily.
Has to have Bluetooth connectivity. Preferably under $200. Not too bulky.
I listened to a few and the Boss Soundlink seems to be the one. But want to hear other suggestions.

Bose soundlink is the best imo.
Even though it doesn't hit the low frequrncies or produce any booming bass I have not heard anything even close to it. With mine people are always commenting on how good it sounds.
I bought mine used off eBay for $220 about a year ago. With the new SoundLink 3 out I would think you should be able to pick up a good used unit for under $200 on eBay.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
Regarding the soundlink, I guess I'm more interested in the colours version of it. V3 I'm assuming?
How are jbl ones? There's one that'll act as a PowerBank as well which is pretty neat.

Soundlink 3 and the color/mini are different.
Honestly if you're gonna pay the $200+ for the color or the mini Id just buck up and get the soundlink3 OR Costco may start blowing out the 2 for under $250 brand new.
Soundlink 3 claims to get 12 hours + battery life where as the 2 only gets 3-5

I was thinking of the soundlink colour for $140 @ FS.
I heard it over the weekend d and it was quite good. May not have solid bass or anything. But $140 for what it sounds like doesn't seem too farfetched.

Yea $140 seems pretty reasonable, I expcred them to be more in the 200 range like the soundlink mini

Just picked up the ultimate ear boom :)
Can't wait to go home and try it out without so much background noise from the store
Fantastic. Great for get togethers
Soundlink mini @ $200
Great for having music in the background
Monster Clarity HD @ $50 from amazon
Oontz angle @ $50
I've used all three of these options.

Since picking up the UE Boom yesterday. I've been happy with its mid range sound and design. But it seems to be lacking some bass.
Wondering if I should exchange for the Bose Soundlink mini for $20 more...?
What's your thoughts?
The bad thing tho about the Bose is that it uses its own charger, non USB, and has substantially worse battery life.

Why not buy the bose, Keep both for a few days then return the one you don't want? Probably best way to compare

I have the original Jambox, had it for a few years now and love it. Sound quality is great for such a little speaker.
Soundlinks sound great too, but not 50-100% premium in cost over the Jambox great. And you have to carry around a special charger for them.
The Jambox charges over Micro Usb, much more convenient. Plus has speakerphone capability.

I got 2 Logitech UE Booms. Best part of the boom is you can connect 2 speakers to 1 device.

FYI. The UE Boom will go down to $169.99 during FS boxing week sale. Just keep receipt and they'll price match. That's what I'm planning on doing if I'm keeping them.

off topic question, but does anyone think buying the wifi speakers is worth it over the bluetooth ones? I want portable sound for my living room, and I always find the bluetooth speakers "tinny" in larger rooms.

I have Spector T230 from my work. Super small speaker - very portable. Its got some weight to it for something so small so you know it has very good quality sound and bass for something so small. I'm in love with it !! I think it's only like $60 too. But I got it for free hehe :)
Sound quality is big for me. So these definitely pass. Worth the money
I really wanted the bose mini soundlink 2 but it's so pricey lol. Good thing I just got the spector t230.
Stay away from ihome bluetooth speakers. I didn't buy one but company gave them away at conference. I got this boxy grey dual speaker system and it's got that interfering hiss whenever the music is quiet. I keep it around when i shower or do something outside. It would be ok if it was $20 off the shelf but even on sale at indigo book store they run at $40 on sale and 70 something retail
This is the one i have but dont be fooled:

I have the Ultimate Ears BOOM Bluetooth. Seem decent battery is good and is water resistance. 360 degree. Price is on the expensive side though.

I have the bose sounklink iii which is awesome but expensive.
For something more portable i use Nudeaudio super-m
http://www.amazon.com/NudeAudio-Bluetooth-Waterproof-Compatible-Guarantee/dp/B00N4OT29E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1437120550&sr=8-5&keywords=nudeaudio+super+m
ipx 5. water proofish. I've partially submerged it and still works perfectly fine.
lacks on the low end a bit but that's expected for something this size, but gets very loud!

When my friend was shopping for Bluetooth speaker last year, it came down to these two choices after trying every portable one they had in-store.
Sony Powerful Bluetooth Wireless Speaker (SRSX55B) - Black : Wireless Speakers & Bluetooth Speakers - Best Buy Canada (http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/sony-sony-powerful-bluetooth-wireless-speaker-srsx55b-black-srsx55b/10363010.aspx?path=708cacc0a327cb9421c1047d24f560f den02)
Bose SoundLink Mini II Bluetooth Wireless Speaker - Carbon : Wireless Speakers & Bluetooth Speakers - Best Buy Canada (http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/bose-bose-soundlink-mini-ii-bluetooth-wireless-speaker-carbon-sdlk-mini-ii-carbon/10374581.aspx?path=b0c2443b57cde4cd895d4bd6ee63ba6 een02)
He ended up going with the Bose unit because it was half the size of the Sony and there was only a $20 price difference at that time.
I never would have expected something the size of a stick of butter to produce such a full sound range.
It pumps out more than enough power to fill a large hotel room.

Does the soundlink 3 have decent bass?
I would say so, yes.
I have the Soundlink Mini as well. Big sound for the size. I usually just use it when travelling and seems to work well to fill a hotel room with music. Not sure how well it would do in say a large living room.
Are you looking for something ultra portable that you can throw in your bag and take anywhere or is it going to be mostly just sitting on a table playing music? I think that might be a factor in choosing a speaker because...well...size matters at that point.
