I just let it auto renew.. $40 once a year, it's not worth my time cancelling and sitting around waiting for a rare deal to save $1 or $2 per month...

Did you read Netflix is cracking down on VPNs.

Netflix US is fine here with PIA. Shaw ISP, connecting to Seattle.

No problems here either with PIA. Using US - West if that matters and on Shaw as well.

Do you have DNS leak protection turned on? If not, turn it on and try again.
I don't think ISP should matter since on Netflix's end, all they'd see is PIA's info.

How does one do that?

I had a friend on Telus try it and she got the same thing as the rest of you get, even with the DNS leak protection so maybe there's more to this? Anyways, give it a try anyways. Couldn't hurt...

Yep, finally gone for me as well. Ah well. It was fun while it lasted. Still gonna keep my PIA account for when I'm on public wifi.

Hopefully they'll rotate IPs or something to get around this.

Doubtful. They've said that they won't be assisting to help solve Geo-Locked content problems.

It's time I sign up. Thanks, Skinny, for all the great info in this thread. I don't do the Netflix thing so no big deal. If it supports RS, bonus.

Reminder for people, it's best to renew your subscription before it runs out. Originally I paid with BTC and I had nothing left to Renew my subscription, so it ran out and I could not change my payment method so had to create a new account and re-up

A minor inconvenience but easier if you just renew early

Just signed up, RS support is always good!

Sorry but probably just regurgitated questions.
Should I mess with any of the "Advanced" options on the right? On or off?
Connection type - udp
Remote port - auto
Request port forwarding
PIA MACE
I read about Kill Switch, probably on?
IPv6 leak protection
Use small packets
Debug mode

No need to change anything if it's working fine. Kill switch is useful if you really must stay on VPN at all times.

This is a good chance to update that PIA is STILL one of the only VPNs that do not log and do not share logs with governments. There are other alternatives out there, some cheaper maybe some even faster, but if security is at all a concern, PIA are still the best option. This is the main reason we switched to them as a sponsor - not because they pay more (they actually pay less) but because they really are the best option (and thanks again whoever pointed them out to me back then!)

I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly. I turned on my PIA and when I DNS leaked test and also googled where is my IP address I received:

104.200.154.66 none Total Server Solutions L.L.C. United States

Is this Correct? Should it show an American location?

in the pull up menu you can set it to wherever you'd like

i think the auto connect feature just picks the best location?

no way to get around that Netflix block with PIA VPN eh?

SkinnyPupp

The only publicly available VPNs that might have a chance at working on Netflix must be so obscure that almost nobody is using them. As soon as they catch wind of one they ban it.

I'm running Windows with the latest version of Plex. I have PIA running through the PIA client. I looked at trying to setup static ip vpn routes (https://www.bestvpn.co/dedicated-ip-vpn/) in Windows but that doesnt seem to be working. If anyone can shed some light that would be excellent!

Skinny does the private VPN you're using work with Netflix? I've used a few at this point, and none of them have worked (paid for a month sub to a number of them).

Nope I don't know of any that work. If they are out there they'll be quite protected!

If you think Canadian netflix is bad, be glad you don't have the HK version (actually I'm not sure, they both might suck equally)

Tried to connect to PIA today but when it's connected I can't access the internet, it just says "No internet", when I disconnect it my net works fine.
Anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it? I tried connecting on auto and to US California, all won't let me go online.

How long will this last? Connected to US west

Not working for me. Proxy/Unblocker detected. PIA probably got a new block of IPs. Expect it to be blocked, soon. Enjoy it while it lasts :)
