If you were allowed to change one aspect of life on earth today, what would you do?

For better or worse

Barring constraints of realism.... I would take away people's ability (including my own) to be judgemental. Personally, I feel that people's quickness and harshness with how they judge others is a huge contributing factor to why our world today is so imperfect. Just IMHO.

If we're travelling back in time... I could become everyone's distant ancestor. :ifyouknow:

Eliminate religion (it's outdated) and give every single person on the planet the ability to think rationally and with empathy.

The altruistic answer is to provide clean water and food for everybody, but the reality is that if people didn't die from those conditions, we would contribute to overpopulation MUCH more rapidly.

The selfish answer is I'd have a large diamond mine somewhere easily accessible that I owned so I could extract diamonds for less than anyone else (fuck you DeBeers!),.

Eliminate religion (it's outdated) and give every single person on the planet the ability to think rationally and with empathy.

Pretty much a perfect answer. I agree whole-heartedly.

sterilize everyone, only restore anyone's ability to reproduce until they pass certain rigorous exams

Some form of controlled reproduction. The Earth's population has reached a point where that is becoming a privilege, not a right.

Either that, or harsher repercussions for stupidity. We wouldn't have a lot of our problems if people weren't so fucking stupid and easily manipulated.
