I am in Asia, sent my shitty old Samsung LCD back to the shop to get the motherboard replaced, (same as your TV problem, no image only sound). It costed me $200 and lasted one year before it goes bad again.

If it's just a matter of swapping out boards etc boards are pretty cheap on eBay and its a quick do it yourself fix

Otherwise, like stated in this thread, it's much better to get a new TV.
