With the new BMW 2-Series Gran Tourer, BMW has carved out yet another new vehicle segment. With its generous space, versatility and groundbreaking flexibility, the BMW 2-Series Gran Tourer is the world's first premium compact model to offer up to seven seats and fully meet the mobility requirements of young families.

Spot on. Eerily similar. And not in a good way for BMW.

I don't get why people get all up in arms about this kind of thing.

They'll probably sell more of these than any other car in their line up and hopefully we will see the company able to take more chances and make more extreme cars.

For example; Porsche's #1 best seller in North America is the BASE Cayanne but still produce cars such as the 918.

I guess you could argue it dilutes the brand a bit, but that is BMW's call.

Also, Mercedes already has the B class. BMW is certainly not going to let Mercedes be the exclusive player in the category. With all the MINI variants that BMW has already built, I'm sure this 2 series Grand Tourer is just a bit of nip tuck here and there to get it to where it is.

There are probably ghetto fold down seats in the back of the car that face the rear of the car. Two sided back rest of maximum efficiency.

Oh, I fully understand why manufacturers create vehicles like these but that doesn't justify it's ugliness. Ha!

I have nothing against "MPVs" like this one, but the thing is, at least get the proportions right. Even the Mazda 5 looks much prettier than this in my opinion, as well as the current-generation B-Class

people will just buy this just for the name, as it will be one of the least expensive models.

I can see this everywhere in Richmond soon, just like the Merc B-class

Mother-in-law seats

As for interior, I disagree with the looking like a Mazda inside. It actually does look quite refined offering the true BMW feel. I do wonder how it will drive though.

"Another vehicle to add to our useless vehicle range such as the 5 Series GT and the 3 Series GT we now have a even smaller and uglier more useless vehicle we would like to introduce the 2 series GT"

please tell me it's not coming to north america
the current market for BMW is accessible enough so I would rather not see a FWD bimmer bathtub that will dominate Richmond
