The man known as the father of the Z, Yutaka Katayama, has passed away at the age of 105. Not only did you make a huge impact with the introduction of the 240z in the late 60s with the hardcore the Datsun/Nissan fans, your influence spread far beyond to the Japanese import scene as a whole. Without your innovation, spirit, and perseverance, I sincerely do not think the scene would be the same as the one we know and love it today - you left your mark Mr.K! Thank you and may you Rest in Peace.

I love what Mr. K has to say at the end of this letter:

Sports car is a modern horse that a driver should drive with his heartbeat in harmony with its exhaust notes

Man, he is a legend. His cars were something for my dad and I to bond over ever since I was a kid.

To this day I still miss my old Z.

I'm actually really sad that my 510 doesn't have an engine in it.
I would have loved to go for a hoon today for him.

A car is a horse. I want to drive a thoroughbred that's in tune with my heartbeat, but not something that's too dressed up for someone like me.
