Neat video. I'm not on that LB/over-fender train at all but it's always cool to see other enthusiasts stories and their passion for what excites them.

Oh god no; I hope he didn't purchase that gorgeous 458 Miles End Motors had for sale a few weeks ago. I guess it's too late to say "please don't ruin the 458...".

Can't say I'm a huge fan of this particular GTR, and the reason probably lies in the way the car looks in most images when it's slammed while stationary with the wheels tucking, I feel it ruins the whole look and the car has a MUCH better stance when the ride height is at driving height as it was in the beginning of the movie.
That and people taking obvious performance vehicles and supercars and slamming them. I can understand doing the whole low and slow thing to regular not-so-quick, non-performance-oriented vehicles, as I've followed that path a little myself, but if I had a true performance vehicle, I would certainly want to INCREASE its performance, instead of going down the more showy route. For example the 458 Liberty Walk that is being mentioned in the above posts, I can't deny how gorgeous it looks, maybe aside from a questionable choice of wheel colour, but the amount of engineering the original manufacturers put into those vehicles to make them handle the way they do, just the suspension itself, from my personal and humble opinion, I just feel like it's a waste to cripple the performance for the sake of looks, especially if we're talking about six-digit price tag exotics. Sure people say bags handle just like performance suspension etc. etc. except it really just doesn't :lawl:
But to each their own, this was an incredible movie to watch and props to the quality of the build!

Feel free to just point and laugh at anyone who says this.
Reasoning below and mostly off topic so spoilered:
My FX, although designed to be pretty rigid, and decently sporty, was not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination.
I bought the most advanced air management system on the market. The bags and struts I bought are arguably the best bag/strut/shock combo in the market right now, and they were designed and engineered specifically for the platform I have put them on.
All of the above, and my not so sportscar-ish, sport-utility-vehicle, became even less sporty after the install. It wallows in the corners, turn in is dramatically less predictable, and in general it just isn't as tight.
It isn't anything to do with budget, it isn't anything to do with parts, its nothing to do with installation. The technology is simply not there yet to make air as performance oriented as a quality set of coilovers that are dialed in properly. Some would even say just plain physics will never allow air suspension to reach the same level as a few other systems out there. That remains to be seen though.
Now lets step back and look at the air industry today, AirRex, the biggest name in bags and struts right now. They have an application for a seemingly endless number of vehicles. They don't engineer shit into their struts, they spend their days taking their generic single bellow, double bellow, or triple bellow strut and making it fit as many vehicles as possible, they don't revalve their shocks they don't adjust for geometry etc.
Compared that to the setup which I purchased by JDM Air Runner which they actually ground up engineer each and every bag bracket, strut, and pair shocks to those setups for every individual platform they support. It is why they support about 10% the number of cars that AirRex does.
Comparing AirRex to Air Runner is like comparing a set of KW V3's with a set of Megan Racing Coilovers, yeah they both work, but you're not seriously going to tell me the Megans are even in the same league as the KW's? are you?
Based on the information above between the difference between air runner and AirRex, who would you imagine would be more renowned for their product? Well you would be wrong, AirRex gets constant praise about their generic China Grade struts, while Air Runner is relatively unknown by the generic crowd.
And that's just the stage that the air industry is at right now, it's basically still in the infancy stage, where people are still learning, and unfortunately right now the companies that are represented the most are the ones that are winning the battle, people who don't know see 100 cars at Sema running AirRex gear and they assume that it's the best, when in reality it's just the most mass marketed thing.
AirRex is like the Vossen of the Air Struts. A lot of marketing behing a product that looks semi decent, but in reality isn't worth the money.
And before you think that I am just saying this because I am running Air Runner gear and not AirRex, you obviously don't know me. If something is shit, I'm not gonna front. I'll tell you it's crap.
So let's delve further, my compressors, they are made by ViAir, they are ViAir's newest and most advanced model the 444c. ViAir compressors are run in an overwhelming majority of cars (like seriously 90%), and the compressors are CRAPPPP. Seriously. on the other hand Air Zenith builds the beautiful, massively better engineered, and completely documented to be more reliable, and they sell like 5% of what ViAir does. All because they got into the game a little late, they didn't have the same companies pushing their products, etc.
Alas I digress. Air ain't a performance thing, if you want performance get yourself some ohlins, or whatever.
As for the video, well done, and extremely enjoyable to watch. Didn't find myself bored, could have watched even more.

Both the GTR and the 458 are now sponsored by Phantasy colours down in Washington. So they are both being painted for this upcoming season.

Yeah I'll be there for sure come have a look, if anything take it for a drive and you can see what I mean about the ride quality. Especially the turn in hesitation and the lack of bite on turn it. Even to those who have never driven a stock FX i've been told its noticeably bad.

Sick car, and a great video. Doczilla has some serious auto passion, and it's cool that he's a doctor. Doc's deserve the finer things in life for helping the rest of us live longer and healthier lives.
But man, does he look unhealthy for a car guy, let alone a doc.
Have some veggies doc, VEGGIES!

I rather this guy chop up and kit this car.. if he didnt do it some 18y/o with his N would have beached it on a meridian in Richmond by now..
like some have posted, this car was purpose built.. these mods destroy that purpose.. that being said, this community would be veryyyyy boring if we all left our cars in stock form.. lets face it, most mods we do dont have the same r&d or reliability of the factory parts we are replacing. dosnt stop us.. so why should it stop someone with a larger bank account?
i respect the hell out of this build.. usually im against someone having a shop do all their work.. but this guy is working on people so others can work on his car.

The amount of people that try and convince others that air has "caught up" to coils in handling has made my brain bleed in the past. Nothing wrong with bags, but we all know what they are for. Looking good.

Agreed. We all went karting with the Doc, Kato, GTR crew, etc and when all the GTR's pulled in it was pretty cool, but not like WOW. Then you hear the rumble of the exhaust and see the LibertyWalk GTR pull up and it really sets itself apart from the rest of the GTR's.
Realistically everyone talks about performance and handling and rarely do any of these people actually take their cars to the track/auto x/ 1/4mile etc. Sometimes just looking good is enough. Not everything has to be about how fast it can go, or how well it takes corners. Everyone has different tastes in vehicles and there's really no right or wrong.
I like stereos. Someone else likes everything original. Another likes 1000HP. Another wants the car light and handle well. Someone else wants a lifted truck, Etc etc. 1000HP or a good handling car is almost as pointless for daily driving to and from work in rush hour.

But I gotta say, that video was incredible. The time and skill that went in to the editing is extensive, and impressive. I think everyone here would love to have beautiful rolling shots, virtual dissections and a spinning teleportation shot of our cars :fullofwin:
