Hello fellow RSers

As some of you know I'm getting married! :heckno: yea I know... ANYWAYS

I'm broke as shit :rukidding: and looking for a wedding photographer/company, any of you have places in mind? and cost? looked on most sites they have samples which look gorgeous but I'm just concerned about costs and what not. If any of you have any input I would greatly appreciate it.

Congrats, buddy!

Instead of just thinking about hiring a photographer, it might be worth your while to consider doing the photos + other stuff as a whole package. Potentially, suit+gown rental + bridal make up might end up being cheaper if you bundle it all into a single package from one of the wedding photography studios. Of course, there are pros and cons to both approach, so think about it and see which option you and the missus prefers.

Judging by your user name, I'm gonna assume that you are an Asian / ethnic Chinese dude. If you or the missus subscribe to the western customs that the groom is not supposed to see the wedding dress before the ceremony, then this one-stop shop wedding studio thing will probably not work for you.

There is literally no shortage of this type of 1-stop-shop wedding studios in Vancouver. The more commonly known ones in the ethnic Chinese community are:

The above is obviously not an exhaustive list, but it includes a mix of Taiwanese, Hong Kong, Mainland Chinese, and Korean wedding studios, so each place has its own distinct style (and price ranges).

Check it out if you're interested, and see if it is something that will fit into your plans.

Used their services. Photos with two photographers for the full day + make up came to around $2k, maybe a bit more. That's inclusive of stuff like photo development (forgot how many), DVD (photo slide show for the wedding) etc. This was around 7 years ago though, so pricing likely has changed. And we were pretty chill for the most part, so the relationship went well and I think they had fun too. :)

Just an update I went with Lovefrankly (http://www.lovefrankly.com) he does really good work and the price was reasonable. Tom does some amazing work but with amazing work comes higher prices and sadly asian wedding of 150 already I simply do not have the budget.
