probably $1500 imo.

How much is the engine worth?
For me.. it'd be worth that plus maybe a couple hundred at most.

In a lot of cases, a car like this, will be worth more parted out than as a complete car.

04-23-2015, 02:27 PM
yes I didn't see it was a vtec b18, that swap you could sell for $1800-2200 by itself if its in good shape, so maybe top of the dollar is $2500 id say....

what b18 is that? definitely no shitty b18b1 lol.
price of engine and interior and scrap the rest of the car in my opinion.. old car audio has no real relsale unless maybe the amps were high quality units.

B18c out of an LS. The Amps are made in America Zapco amps. The sub amp you can't see is from New Orleans. When Hurricane Katrina hit the guy evacuated taking the amp with him. It was a pricey amp back in the day.

What is stamped on the block? LS' never came with B18C*
I've been looking at cars for several months and, for the most part, cars on the island are priced a bit higher than their lower mainland counterparts.
your car is worth about 2k, but with the rims it's like 1500

The LS never came with a b18c
It's either a b18 from the gsr, the type r, or it could be what is considered an LS-VTEC when the block is a stock b18b but it's modified to accept the Vtec head. I suppose it could be a b16 as well but then I'm way out of my knowledge area

I give you $5000
if you can sell for 5 cuz I offered you 5, you and I split 60/40(me). you can show this site as interested party.. yah? good deal yah?

According to Supperdipper it's a B18c gsr block. If I remember right he told me it's running rods from a Japanese Type R so the compression is 10 to 1.

b18c is a jdm type r... b18c1 is a gsr, b18c5 is type r
so its not a gsr block if it says c, its a jdm type r.
what really matters is the head/cams. the jdm head is worth the most, then the c5, then the c1.. then we get into b16 stuff, b16a is the jdm b16 found in the SIR ef's and the b16a2 is found in the candian ek SIR and the american SI
the b16 block is worth scrap.
and then you have the LS (non vtec) heads b18a1 and b18b1
this all being said, assuming the trans, axles, clutch, oil consumption/leaks is good with no knock or violent ticking in the head, the car is worth really what the engine and rolling chassis is, i would call that 2500- 3k if the body isnt all rusted/dented up
would make a nice little restoration project for someone, but thats assuming they know what they are looking at
you may be able to get more than 3k from some cragslist kid that thinks the 2tone and rims are SICKK.. but not from someone who knows how outdated it is haha

Tis' a sad day when it would be more cost effective to part your car, and scrap the shell rather than sell it as a whole.
It's why I still own my first ever vehicle (a 2004 GMC sierra). I don't have the heart to rip the motor out of it and sell it, and as a whole its worth like nothing...lol

The audio and wheels definitely won't add anything to 95% of potential buyers, so I'd consider parting those out without worry of them changing the value of the car.
Also, "lowered" could mean anything from used, $50 springs off CL to $1k+ coilovers - so that would affect value also. Anything else done to the suspension?

It's A Gsr Of Some Variant. I can't remember now what I put in there. Been so long. The head was off the b16 originally in the car.

Car may be worth $2k as a whole. Parting it will net a better bottom line but that depends how much work/time you want to put towards gaining a bit more money.
That speaker set-up is classic!!!!

I'd say it has H&R springs judging by the sticker on the rear strut bar :smug:

Those wheels looks like they are either the Sparco NS2 or the Jacnife M8. Both are early 1990's JDM light weight, quality, and expensive wheels (hard to tell from the picture, but they might even be welded 2 piece wheels). You might be able to get $1000+ just for the wheels provided that they're in good condition and the right buyer comes along.

Sorry they are XXR's. The company was called Sportmax at the time. The car been tentatively sold. The guy is giving me a deposit tomorrow.
Just imaging what my car would have looked like if I had one that e-bay auction for a knock off feels body kit.

Contract states the car is sold as is no warranties or guarantees implied. I actually told the guy not to buy it at first but he fell in love with it. His words not mine.
