WOW. the price for the night market by the casino keeps going up every year.
$2->$2.50->$2.75 now. This might start to deter people away and lure them into the Home Depot one instead.

I've been the the North Van one last year or the year before. It was much smaller and the booths sell more artsy homemade craft stuff. As for the food, there was like 10 food trucks parked in rows.
It was fun for the food trucks because I was able to try a whole bunch of them in the same area, similar to those food truck festivals they sometimes have in Vancouver.

The North Van one is a change in scenery for sure, but if you're Asian, Don't have children with you, and/or cheap, you're better off going to the Richmond ones.
As someone mentioned, NVan one is smaller, sell expensive artisan things, etc. Also be prepared to pay a lot more for food. Higher quality, definitely, but at a premium.

All those yuppies that sell their shit at the north van one are all the same that sell at the dundarave market and the lonsdale quey etc. I don't get people who overvalue their shit to a point where no one is buying anything.
Like some little paintings I'd love to have for $150-$300 but when you're selling a 24X48 print for $900? Fuck off

The North Van market also has a beer garden and live music, if you're into those sorts of things. Also, people on the North Shore tend to have manners, so it's a nice change from the chaos that is the Richmond night market.

I went to the Home Depot one. There was nothing. Walked 10min and walked right back out. Food area was busy. Biggest lineup as usually are the over priced $3 roasted corn and hurricane potatoes for $4.50 for one or $8 for 2. Ridiculous how much ppl are willing to pay for half a potatoe. Haha.. But good for vendor.

:suspicious: Not even sure you went there now..
Maybe moody went later but I was there from 7-9:30 sooo... yup.
-Takoyaki & Deep Fried Squid had the longest lineups, with time in line being about 20 minutes, and waits for food even longer.
-Halal BBQ was the main skewer place, there was another small Japanese BBQ stall, but other then that, no skewers. Wait was about 45 minutes for 3 chicken skewers @ Halal.
-Candy Sugar (IIRC) had 2/3/4 layer cotton candy made into the shape of a flower. Definitely cool, but again, 30 minute wait.
Hurricane Potato had a 5 minute wait if that, same with Roasted Corn..
Once RiverRock is open, me and gf would probably go back for the food we like, as I'm sure the lines will all die down like last year. Definitely hurting for novelty stands though, you can tell this nightmarkets going to be gone if RiverRock continues to stay open.

Went to both night markets on Saturday night......... washed my car earlier that day, too. LOL.
Fast pass, or whatever you call it at the night market next to River Rock, costs a tad more but gets you in right away. Without it, you have to walk all the way to the other side just to come back to the entrance. Food costs more at this night market but there's more places.
I enjoyed the nightmarket near Home Depot more. It's sparse right now, but hoping it will get better over time. Entry is free and free parking on street is not bad. Best bet is to pay 4 bucks for parking next to the venue - with four people in car, it's like one buck each.
I told my kids I'll give them and their friends a ride to the one next to casino, but not go into the parking lot. I'll drop them off at casino, while I check out the sluts...... I mean slots. Hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.......

Went to RR nightmarket last night.
Sat in traffic for about 40 minutes (forgot to take River  ) but once parked, got the zoom pass for $20, definitely worth it considering you skip the line.
Once inside, shops are no different, games area seems smaller, saw the "Throne of Rotato" :lawl: and had some decent food.
Comparing HD to RR, I'd stick to RR just because there's more food. Here's to hoping HD will get afew more stalls for food. They def. need a BBQ skewer stall, cuz Halals wait was 40min+.

Which is the TASTIEST food at Night market right now???
If you don't mind waiting like 50 minutes there is a new Taiwanese fried chicken place that's pretty good. There is also a spicy Crawfish stand but it's a mess to eat and not worth it to peel 2 minutes for a the tiny sliver of meat.
Everything else is the same. The big dim sum stand is always there for you to grab a bite while you wait for lamb skewers although they are meh.
I do like the super spicy fish balls though.
