Alternatives can easily be found across Cambie Bridge. Save on Foods at Cambie and 7th, or No Frills on Broadway 1 block east of Cambie. Hop the Canada Line if you don't feel like walking or have no vehicle. Look for the Urban Fare flyer each week. On sale items, the prices aren't terrible.

There's a No Frills on Denman St. That will be your savior.
Surprise you never thought about groceries prior to moving to downtown.

Besides some of their items on sale weekly, their regular price items are still expensive compared to Superstore/No Frills/Pricesmart.

You live in yaletown and you want to cook food? WTF??!?
hit up blue water for lunch, minami for dinner and grab breakfast from Artigiano.
There's also a good vegan food cart. The tiny asian noodle place on Homer is good too!
Urban Thai has a good lunch specials.
who the hell cooks their own food ?!?!?
I go to Urban Fare for lunch sometimes, but it is wildly overpriced....
