Detuned due to emissions for the North American market to 101hp/66ft-lbs LOL. What a joke.

Gotta love how a motorcycle with a tiny engine has to be detuned for "emissions reasons" in North America, yet it's perfectly okay for lifted, bro-dozer pickups that roll coal, blow black smoke, and get 8mpg to drive around all day...

I don't think Panigale R would stand a chance if you race them side-by-side.

The front fork for RC213VS costs $25,000 which is already more than the CBR1000RR SP.

Get the kit and do the same.

I recall Timpo being barred from the Motorcycle Forum quite some time ago.

so apparently this bike will be restricted to 101hp in North America and 70hp in Japan due to emission standards.

However there will be a track kit available which will boost the power up to 215hp.

i know it's only a name but why make these complicated ones? Who's actually gonna care there's some homage/reference in it?

see MP4-12c, didn't clarkson say it sounded like a model of a printer? I'm not saying LaFerrari or heck, Esteem is any better...

They're trying to sell "brand" rather than "car"

Mazda president had a media conference about this.
Because Mazda is trying to follow this trend too.

Mazda Demio -> Mazda 2
Mazda Axela -> Mazda 3
Mazda Atenza -> Mazda 6
Mazda Miata -> Mazda MX5

Mazda president said that he wanted people to recognize Mazda vehicles as "Mazda" not "Atenza"
So for example, you know how people call 135i a BMW?
When people see a 135i, they don't go like "Hey look! that's a 135i" they would just say "that's a BMW/Bimmer"
Same as Ferrari, they don't go like "Wow that's a nice 575 Maranello" because people would go like "That's a nice Ferrari"
When people make customer announcements, they don't go like "a customer with black Q60 please move your vehicle" they would probably call it a "black Infiniti"

So they want the "brand" recognition, not the car.

(I'm not talking about car enthusiasts who know specifically about each and every single car, I'm talking about general public)
