1040, usually in the afternoon on the way home from work (especially if I get off late; love the Ferraro segment).

The Zone 91.3 is generally my go-to station in the morning, but I'll jump to The Fox or The Wolf if there's a song I dislike on The Zone or the weather isn't co-operating with The Zone's signal.

Only AM, 98% of the time 1040, sometimes 980

About 10 years ago I worked as a delivery driver and one afternoon, not one, not two, but all three local "pop" stations had the same Britney Spears song on at the same time. FM radio died for me that day

I'm a old man now because I started listening to CBC Radio

88.1 FM

It's really good, I have learned a lot from it. It's pretty unbiased, and I've learned more about Canadian politics, east coast of Canada, and it's got very good interviews that are relevant and educational about Canada
Also, on the weekend, they have a lot of very good comedy programs on.

I really enjoy it a lot

1040 is the only radio station I listen to. Maybe 1130 when I'm on the road and want some traffic and current events.

Music on the radio sucks. It's probably 95% Taylor Swift. I'd much rather bluetooth my phone or tune into a streaming service like Songza or Rdio that isn't playing the same fucking songs over and over.

AM 730 for traffic almost every time im driving more than 10 mins. used to like 1040 until brojake came on in the morning and i fuckin hate him. otherwise big into cknw. i like to get my news, traffic and weather in morning, then i switch on to my tunes.

dont listen to FM radio cant remember the last time i did. if im at work in a vehicle and i cant use my phone, then CBC, they have some worthwhile programming and at least provide some entertainment

The only radio I listen to is < 5 mins in the mornin when my radio alarm goes off.

+1 for 88.1 CBC Radio.

Early Edition FTW.

Rick Cluff is my homie.

Everything else is podcast. If no good episodes then News1130.

i listened to NW and other "discussion" type radio a lot when i had more time, the way things are phrased and the callers who phone in are just as bad as the sports talk stations.

Mountain Phlegm and CBC is all we get in Squamish. But really, I don't listen to the radio. Too many ads, pointless banter and not enough music.

When I drive through Van, though, it's 93.7 JRFM. Mostly bro-country, but still good listening.

What's with the turds failing the guy for what might be his best, most legit thread? Fail stalkers... :rukidding:

For me, TSN1040 90% of the time, AM730 if I sense a traffic jam or 101.1 if I'm with the family as they can't stand AM radio :lol At least then I get to listen to rock and not some top 40 BS.

When I'm in the wife's van... top 40 all day err day :okay: unless the kids aren't with us (rarely) then she has some pretty good rap tunes on her iPod which aren't kid friendly.

AM 1410 all day everyday when at my desk. I can't stand 1040, hate Brother Jake in the morning, I don't mind B-Mac and Donnie later but at that time I'm usually listening to Dan Patrick which I prefer. I find the American Sports guys cover every sport where 1040 is only talking about Canucks and Lions, only so much I can listen to that before wanting to drive a penicl through my ear.

I used to listen to 1040 in the AM until 9 but once Bro Jake got on board I was all out. I refuse to listen to that toolbag, my 9 year old knows more about sports then he does.

I usually flip between 99.3 and 102.7. CFOX is the only thing on in my car in the mornings (the Jeff O'Neil show is awesome), and I listen to The Peak in the afternoon mostly, either that or I play music from my phone.

Not a huge AM fan because I like listening to music, but whenever I do have it on I listen to 1040 or 1410.

I was flipping stations once and heard, in a short span, the latest (at the time) songs by Def Leppard, Shania Twain, and Bryan Adams... and couldn't tell which I was hearing until someone started singing. Mutt Lange made Shania's career and killed the others. :P

As to the OP, I mostly only listen to the radio when I'm driving, or when I'm on the shitter... usually 980, sometimes 1130 if that's boring (which happens more and more these days).

FM radio is mostly a wasteland, although I do get nostalgic with Jack sometimes. Classic rock stations just play the same shit - great songs that get boring after 10,000 repeats.

Other than that, CBC (both Radio 1 and Radio 2) are pretty good - at least they're not the same mainstream dreck.

I never thought it would happen to me either but I find listening to CBC radio on my commute to work relaxes me. Listening to all the other radio stations irritates me because of all the commercials and they all play the same music. Also most of the time the topics are very interesting.

I also listen to CBC radio 2 105.7 from 8-10 pm for TONIC which is jazz music because it feels super soothing for those night drives.

Other than that I will flip around some other FM stations such as the Peak. My coworker had JRFM on and I must admit country isn't as bad as I thought lol.

Even NW, I find any more, the talk formats are following the same concept as the music formats - repetition, repetition, repetition. Where the hosts used to have mostly different topics through the day (plus one or two "hot button" topics), now it's pretty much the same playlist on every shift... and where you used to have the likes of Bill Good who was good at playing devil's advocate and never got into hysterics over anything... now it seems the hosts are all about stirring controversy: "here, we picked a subject, here's the station's position on it... that's what you have to work with. We always assume politicians are wrong and evil and we'll provide you out-of-context clips to back it up, so you make sure to flog it, flog it, flog it. No quarter given to dissenting views no matter how logical or reasonable they are."
