Lets play, best/ most fun car in the price range that money can buy you, lets do 10-50k, so please give me ideas on what you think is the best bang for the buck for a car enthusiast.

Just trying to help a friends consider some fun cars at various price ranges and I want to know what everyone else thinks is a car worth test driving and checking out to compare.

10k - G35 Coupe
20k - 335i coupe
30k - STI
40k - mustang GT
50k - M3/ Final edition Evo X

There are a stupid number of variables involved here, including what the car will need to be used for, how reliable it needs to be, will the owner DIY at all, etc etc etc.

40k-50k - Corvette C6 Z06
7.0L V8 you can fix with a hammer 505hp
Wrecking many vehicles around tracks twice its price range.
Sometimes you can get lucky and find a low km one with a Superchager strapped to it like this that has to be running ~750hp. Change the oil on time and drive the piss out of it and it will never break.

Personal preferences are welcome which is why I need a list of cars in the price range so my buddies can get out there and see what they like.

The average car enthusiast is willing to spend a little more money for an exciting car, so ignore maintenance, DIY and all that fun stuff.

Having a garage and building something that you love = the best car

lol no way in hell i could ever pay 50k for an evo. while it is a performance powerhouse, its still a cheap econo-box on the inside.

sadly, these days people could care less about the old "built not bought" saying. so many guys out there dont even know how to change a tire or even check the oil on their cars.

10-50k?

- Alpina B12 6.0
- Cadillac XLR-V
- Audi A8L W12

off the top of my head. The Caddy would probably be the most reliable, but who cares.

I sit in the drivers seat push a couple buttons and it tells me how much to add :troll:

literally spent 10 min trying to find the dipstick the first time. This coming from a guy who built a ford powered jeep with chevy axles.

G35 isn't a "fun" car. It's an overweight, "luxurious" 350z. If you want the fun car out of the pair, the Nissan is the one to choose.

Either way, much better cars to pick from with the used market at that price point.

My thoughts exactly until I went to Texas and spoke to people who tracked and raced their G35s.

If 10k is your budget, you could have the heavy G35 or the much lighter 350z. Statistically speaking both are rated at 5.2 seconds 0-60.

But, and here is the kicker. The G35 can be gutted out and put on a major diet to make it a 4 second car. What I heard people do down south was part out their G35 which get you a nice penny because of how much more expensive the parts are and are difficult to find and then used towards upgrades.

Hence why I personally think the G35 is one of the best and most exciting 10k car, its quick and has a lot of potential if your willing to get your hands dirty.
