Anyone here has done this and can help me?
Is it as easy as
1. Order online
2. Pay for it plus shipping & tax
3. Go to the port and insure it for a day and drive to inspection
4. Pay inspection fee and pay full insurance.
5. Drive it.
Where is the port... do I need towing? Do I need transfer papers? Legal docs? Etc? Is there already a thread about this...?

If you do it yourself, it's a fuck load of work imo. You'll probably need to take at least 3 days off work to do it all.

You can hire a broker in Japan to help purchase and arrange for delivery of the vehicle. Other way of doing it is through local Importers but obviously they will charge you a fee for that (sometimes based on the value of the vehicle).
The info below is before you can register, fully insure your vehicle and drive off.
You need a paid invoice or bill of sale, Japanese export certificate, English translated export certificate, BC Inspection, Form 1 with 2 stamps, and 2 publicly visible VINs before you can register the vehicle.
If you don't have a paid invoice or bill of sale, you'll need a wire transfer receipt.

I would say that someone with your knowledge should go through an importing company. I personally brought over my Altezza through Will at JDMConnection so I'll recommend him. He answered all my questions and does basically all of the harder work. All that you have to do is pick the vehicle, pay, and then get it from the docks with insurance, then inspect it, then fully insure it. And you can even get someone locally to do that part for you if you want.
There is other companies out there such as B-Pro and Pacific Coast that have great reputations as well.
There's a lot more to it than what you wrote in the OP and IMO it's a lot less painless the first time around to get all the help you can find.

PM me if your serious,
Lots of guys just come and ask how to do it, then abandon the idea and just pay someone else a huge markup to do exactly what I told them..
