Hi there, just wondering which most people prefer or use. Both shops seem to be very popular and was also looking for one to be my main performance shop that I will use for mods. What do you guys think?

Force-fed:
They did a fantastic job on building/tuning my brothers rotary, it just wouldn't give up after all the abuse it took. Built from the bottom with a custom single turbo my brother visualize it and they made it happen.
Racing Greed:
I was having problems with a motor I swapped in my car, it had a fully built head with Jun cams stage3. The motor kept on dying on me so I figured it had a bad ecu/ tune, towed it to RG when they were on lougheed hwy as it was the closest to me than any other tuner shop. Left it there for a week and got a call the next week. They solved a few issues with the motor (replaced some parts) gave me a new map and ran it on the dyno, I couldn't believe how much power that thing had, they woke up a sleeping monster!!
These experiences with these shops are dated between 2005 (force-fed) and 2008 (Racing Greed) haven't use them since but at the time both shops were very professional and when beyond the call of duty to keep my brother and me satisfied with the service and knowledge.

Ive owned a subaru WRX with a bunch of mods tuned by RG tune was ok but could have been better, otherwise all my rotary stuff has been tuned by marko @ forcefed since 2008, never had a motor blow and i drive all of them very very hard haha

Racing greed all the way.
I have had 3 different setups tuned by them and never blown a motor.
Their dyno is great but reads low, for example my car made 440whp on RG's dyno and the same tune did 546whp on Forcefed dyno.

FF has always put out high numbers though, their dyno had my friends stock, 10 year old car putting out more power than it did from the factory :lol

What?? Aren't dyno's suppose to have a very close to correct reading?? Whats wrong with teir dyno if it is that off??

It's true their numbers are high. Nothing is wrong with RG's dyno, it does read low but they can print you off a "dynojet" correction number that is more realistic to the actual wheel horse power number if you care.

Each and every Dyno is different.
Even two mustang dyno's of the exact same age being operated side by side could vary wildly in their readings.
As soon as you start moving to different manufacturers machines, and locations, the numbers are pretty much incomparable.
Neither machine is wrong or right, the car still makes the same HP, its just the dyno interprets or understands the information differently. Measuring HP is a rough estimation AT BEST, that's why dyno numbers are pretty much just a huge dick swinging contest.

Therefore butt dyno is still the most accurate interpretation of HP/TQ :troll::lawl:

In all honesty, you need to use a bit of each to get a good understanding of a cars power output.
Butt dyno - The car should be able to firmly push your ass into the seat, and keep it there.
Dyno Results - Not so much the figures, but the shape of the curve and the overall area under the graph. Having an 800hp peak and the rest of the power band be shit is pretty much useless. Same goes for really wavy or "jittery" lines, the curve should be pretty smooth.
The track - The final metric is to get the thing and put it on the strip or the track, see what kinda cars you can beat. Some people say in itself is the only thing that matters, I don't agree with that because it has as much to do with the driver and the tires under the car as anything else. Nonetheless if you can't control your car, 1000hp isn't going to do shit for you except get you killed, so maybe those people are right.

I wouldn't form an opinion of a shop based on their dyno. A dyno is a tuning tool, nothing more. How it is used and who is using it will be the deciding factor. Both shops are competent at what they do.
What kind of car are you building? What mods are you planning? What will be the usage of the car? Those are the questions that matter at this point.

In short Mustang dyno will always read lower than Dynojet
20-30% difference

Thanks a lot everybody! I really appreciate everybody's input. I think I'm going to go with Racing Greed since it seems like everybody has something good to say about them. Main reason I'm not going with Force-Fed is they specialize in Rotary engines and I'm driving an FR-S. Anybody know any Flat-Four Boxer specialists haha :)

Like white rocket said, what are the plans for the car? Track car? Street car? What mods are you planning?

Have used Racing Greed for fabrication, tuning, and dyno and have been very happy.

I ended up going to Racing Greed a couple of weeks ago and got my car dynoed. 144whp is what it came too, apparently higher then some other stock FR-S/BRZs they've had . Everybody seemed cool and owns either a STI or Evo, also lots of JDM goodness in the shop as well.

Mainly a street car but also planing on doing some AutoCross as well. As for mods the basics to start off with, Intake, Exhaust, Headers, Wheels, Tires. Hopefully one day, forced induction. looking more towards a Supercharger over a Turbo though.

Hang on. 144whp? That doesn't make sense... That's a 40% drivetrain loss... It should be around 15%...

Isn't the BR-Z/FR-S advertised at 200 hp? That would make it a 28% loss unless I'm missing something.

Plus it is said that their dyno "reads" low so that sounds about right.
