long story short, some fking fob kid slammed their door onto the side of my car creating a 1.5 inch long dent that is at a body line. i believe this makes it harder to fix? theres paint chip and a crease now. is it even worth it to fix? its an eye sore now

Wouldn't this fall under the category of hit and run?
You can try to ICBC to see what they say about it.
Cause I remember a similar situation that happened to one of the local members of 8thCivic, similar ordeal. It was a door ding on the fender and it resulted $800 in damages.
EDIT:
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/bc-yukon-nwt/198372-dont-under-estimate-door-ding-2.html
Turns out the person that caused the door ding was off the hook.
seems pretty clear cut with a dash cam lol, id call icbc asap

It's not a hard fix for a bodyshop. You probably need a blend on the adjacent panel as well.
I would suggest bringing it by a dent pulling shop. They might be able to massage out 80-90% of that dent.

Some guy parked too close to me last year and dinged my car, took a picture and provided ICBC w/ dash cam footage, then brought it in for a estimate.
They found the other guy at fault.

Wow, I had no idea you could provide dash cam footage of someone denting your car and get it fixed. I just assumed ICBC views it as an inevitable fact of owning a car.
This is why I always park far away from other people. Too many assholes out there that just don't give two shits about other people's property.
Sorry to see this happen to you.

Parents should have taught him better. Hell parents should've opened and closed door for him.

It's not just that.
They obviously knew the kid slammed the door into his car - fucking deal with it properly, don't just leave.

Looks like Richmond.
Parents should teach the kid basic door opening manners. Maybe the parents don't have those manners themselves.

I have 10+ massive door dings on my entire driver's side doors, and a few on my passenger side. It's quite an eyesore but at this point it would be way too costly to repair all the dings on both doors, would be better off with new doors maybe haha :lawl::alonehappy:

Yea, thats the parking lot by Alexandra road in Richmond.
That parking lot space is supppper small and tightttttt.
My car got ding once when I parked there too.
Now, I just park by the street on Alexandra rd.
And Its sad how these parents failed education on their kid.

You got the plate. Report it to ICBC and they should be responsible for your repairs

Not to shoot down an attempt at submitting it to ICBC but they will say the same thing...where's the proof that they hit your car? A swaying ornament isn't exactly compelling evidence. :(

If the dashcam is not believable enough, have ICBC measure your ding and the scratch mark on the other party's door and results would simply prove. You've got nothing to lose, but at least teach some sense into these irresponsible parents.
