Greenstoner

Price and taxes is generally cheaper at AB. Is it legal to bring those back cross province?
Any government website for these kind of info would be appreciated.
I wanted to order a large amount of congac for a wedding and try to save some money even I have to pay difference in tax

Greenstoner
08-26-2015, 11:57 AM
No border but I wanna do things legally and pay any tax if I have to.

Liquor Law Basics - Liquor Licensing in BC - Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (http://www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/lclb/LLinBC/basics.htm)
any more than that (3L limit for spirits) and if you wanna do it the legit way, I'd contact LCLB and ask them what kind of steps to take and paperwork you need to fill out

I've contacted my source in Edmonton and it can be done through special order but its not finalized yet, coz honestly I need to look up the law and do it the legal way.
So I don't have an ETA on when I'll be placing the order and arrival time.

"Bringing alcoholic beverages into B.C. for your own personal consumption"
The keyword is personal consumption, so maybe if you could have whoever is planning the wedding deal with that part?

I can see that much alcohol being consumed at Chinese weddings?
As long as you don't get stopped by cops (eg for speeding).. you should be fine.
There was a radio personality who did it as a protest a few years back.
They don't care up to 3L of spirits:

so wheres this wedding? :derp:

750mL x 4 bottles = 3L.
100 bottles / 4 each = 25 people.
Ask that dude on RS if he found a blueberry bus, rent, invite 24 friends and have a bender there and back = win.

I bought like couple of flats of beer from alberta back before when I drove there a few times and never got into any problems... I guess just leave it in the trunk not where people or officer can see is fine...
some alberta liquor store site...
Sobeye's Liquor Store
Sobeys Liquor: Alberta (http://liquor.sobeys.com/)
Real Canadian Liquor Store(Superstore Liquor Store)
President's Choice beer ftw and btw is really cheap and it is not bad for the price especially in canada

Liquor Depot Alberta
Liquor Depot largest selection of wines, spirits and beers for Alberta and British Columbia. Buy in store or shop online. (http://www.liquordepot.ca/)
Costco Liquor Store
Yes... Costco sells booze in Alberta and rumors is that Kirkland Vodka is as good as, if not better than grey goose...

Actually, no. Kirkland Vodka is not the same as Grey Goose. If you drink both straight, then yes, you can taste the difference. If you mix the heck out of them, then no, Vodka tastes very similar.

Kirkland vodka is made in same plant as Grey Goose from what I read. If you are mixing it for cocktails, then it doesn't really matter what you use.

If you're buying 100 bottles of something you might need to do it commercially or with special permits, I'd be surprised if you can just order up 100 bottles of something worth $30k from a regular liquor store.
I am driving my pickup truck, and 20ft enclosed trailer from edmonton area, to vancouver in 2 weeks. I will bring your liquor back for $500.
I'll help for an extra $500 plus an allowance to buy a Trans Am (and enough time to grow a suitable mustache). Delivery of a backup bride not guaranteed.

i drink a decent amount of Vodka, and i'd argue it's very similar, if not the same. There's no reason not to believe the Kirkland is a Belvedre/Greygoose, etc. the wording on their bottles is almost identical to those two.
Also the Kirkland single malts specifically say, they are taken from the Glenlivet distillery.
Costco doesn't use less quality products under their own label, if anything they are far above the comparable "name brand" equivalents.

OP is one of those noobs who lacks any sort of follow through.
I will be returning to vancouver, I could easily bring this shit straight to his house.
Like everyone said, people who were actually serious about doing something like this, would seek proper advice by phoning the liquor store, or whatever. Basically this thread was pointless.
Unless OP just wanted to flex on the internet about how he was about to buy 30k worth of liqour...

I can't remember where I came across it, but I read a very thorough article once that basically explained all the eleventy trillion times distilling and fifty thousand times filtered nonsense is just advertising crap, the only thing that matters is the cutoffs for the heads and tails.
