You need friends in the industry; my friend made me a contract employee for his auto accessories company and it worked.

As long as you are registered with a legit business in the industry then you're fine. I was going to go this year with some buddies from a shop in Richmond but couldn't get the time off work.

Anything related to the auto accessories industries. I don't even work at my buddies shop, he was just going to put a bunch of us down to rep his shop. There are TONS of people who gain access strictly as a fan of the industry by using a shop to enter.

I sense when it nears SEMA time, BPG is going to have a bunch of new "employees".

Ugh. When I used to work for a company that displayed at SEMA, the WORST thing ever was the people who weren't actually there for business. It's such an expensive show to display at, and then a whole whack of people are there just for autographs. Used to drive us nuts!

Three years in a row I bought passes off Craigslist. There are a lot of industry attendees who use the trip as an excuse to get away from the wives to Vegas and can't unload their passes fast enough.
