I thought the acting was pretty good.

The show has a high hill to climb when compared to the original series.

However, I thought this new spin-off was surprisingly good.

To me, I think most new series start off without much attachment to characters, until further on in the plot.

This new series got me hooked on the first episode.

It provided a different point of view to the Walking Dead Universe:


The first episode, and I think subsequent episodes, are about how it started and how it progressed into total zombie anarchy.

Or, how the next sneak peek puts it: something about "fear" being our enemy and that was how the virus spread.

seems so cliche.



And the scene where they drive out to the floodway, but stop right at the edge of the tunnel, and then instead of driving 5 feet forward and turning around, they start backing up the tunnel just pissed me off.
I think the :yuno: stuff in shows/movies is the #1 thing that ruins them for me.


I do like the concept of how 'fear' is the enemy was put forward in the previews as a big part of the series. Seems like a good concept

I liked it!! The first episode was a build up one for sure...but once shit starts hitting the fan things will get interesting for sure. I like it way better then the the walking dead! I like the city aspect gives it a more interesting feel that's for sure!

Yeah show starting slow but pretty much is expected...needs to build up with character developement and what not but looks like shit will hit the fan in upcoming episode! I like the show so far comparing to the walking dead since there is really no story line they are following. Since the walking dead is based off a comin book you can kind of tell what the story line would kind of be. Wish the show was an hour 30 since the season is a short one...

I honestly thought this season was so boring. I felt like the families were too safe and that they didn't really feel the "fear". Too many episodes of them living in their homes protected by the army. The chaos in the streets in episode 2 and the last episode was good but the rest was quite boring...

I can't wait for the web series on the airplane tho. Hopefully it will be better.

I kind of liked it better as well. More dynamic since it's before, and now during, the outbreak. Once the outbreak happens then it's just another Walking Dead show in a different part of the US. How long was Rick out before he woke up? 30 days?

TWD is just too desolate, depressing, with tons of hopelessness. Great concept and execution but those factors present themselves more and more as the show progresses and it's nice to see another take on the whole concept itself.

This show was an opportunity to show more what it was like when the virus first hit, and I feel like they fast-forwarded through a bunch of how it spread, and what went down. It skipped from virus just hitting, to a finale that could have taken place in the other show.

Also, I didn't believe how certain people reacted. The old mexican dude blew the face off their neighbour who was chewing on the dog, and no one reacted in horror. This is one of their first personal encounters with a zombie, but they still know more humans than zombies. Hell even the main dude was trying to talk to him, even though they just ran over that kid a bunch of times in the waterways and saw first hand that they are not people anymore. So he essentially just saw his neighbours face get blown in half, and he's like "meh, no biggie, I'll just bury him in the yard". Lame.

Also, Kim Dickens is just fucking godawful. How that woman consistently gets work is beyond me. For the love of God GIVE A SHIT ABOUT SOMETHING. Her face displays ZERO opinion about anything. And she was a regular on Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards....seriously, who the hell is casting this bitch?

But the neighbourhoods they shot in looked a lot like LA too. And the ability to change the deep BG to look like LA helps; that aspect of CGI has really improved in recent years.

At the same time the boat idea was cool, but now were missing some of the plot points I thought would make this concept of focusing on the time frame of the actual outbreak interesting. Basically they are segregated on this boat, and we don't actually get to see whats going on in the big cities on land.
