My buddy kinda gave me his Nikon D5100. Since I haven't shot anything in like ages, I'm pretty much a virgin all over again. With all this new technology and bells and whistles on these newish models I swear I'm drawing a blank on how to use it other than point and shoot. Good thing he's kept his user manual. So what kind of tips and such can RS photographers give me? Such as lighting and angles and whatever tidbit information is pretty nice. Looking to play around and hopefully turn out some decent shots.

This might sound stupid to most but that tucked elbow tip is pretty good. That's something I would've never known. lol. Makes sense though
