Other than Surface Pro 4, what else is comparable?

I was hoping Surface Pro 4 to come with USB charging and LTE, that's what a person who travel around really need, apparently it doesn't have either. I heard HP and Dell will have similar design "tablet-top", what will you consider when buying these?

Dell doesn't have a b equivalent product yet. Their xps12 is close but has a fixed angle screen when in laptop mode. I think most users aren't too worried about lte because you can tether. We've eliminated all lte data for laptops at our workplace and ask everyone to just tether.

Lenovo Miix 700
Core M, 3:2 1440p, up to 8GB, 256GB, awkward stylus holder 700USD+
HP Spectre X2
Core M, 1080p, 4-8GB, 128-512GB. Robust kickstand, keyboard included, pen is not 800USD+
Dell XPS 12
Core M, 1080p or 4K, 8GB, no kickstand (only 1 angle opened), keyboard included, pen is not. $1000-1300USD
honestly none of them look appealing enough to warrant the price tag. The glorified tablet that is SP4 still seems like a better buy esp with the i5 configs.
I remember when the first surface came out, it was a fucking joke. With the stupid commercials and the expensive cover keyboard and lacking specs for the price you pay, it was a POS.
But now, as the generations go by, it seems more and more appealing and not many companies actually make anything as versatile. I remember looking at the asus taichi with it's lid touch-display and transformer variants and those ones with the lids that swivel and shit. The worst one that comes to mind is the display that is rotates on a flimsy frame. I thought I broke it when I went to bestbuy to check it out.
The casing for the SP4 is said to be 0.6mm thinner but will still have the same casing material which is nice. I think the surface 3 has a pretty damn good build quality and it's carrying over to the 4. I'm seriously considering one.

to get a respectable config for productivity (i5, 8Gb RAM) with a keyboard you're looking at $1900CAD
I haven't tried to see if the kickstand and keyboard (past versions were reviewed to be pretty flimsy) but that really scares my wallet. I mean that's i7 MBP territory.

If you don't need the latest and greatest get the surface pro 3. It should come down in price quite a bit. As well the new keyboard is backwards compatible. I've been using the pro 3 i5/8gb/256 for almost a year as my daily work machine. Ultra portable and when I'm at my desk I have 3 screens. Can't wait to get the pro4 ad soon as we can get an order in to our supplier.

I've used the new XPS 12 for a few days now...thought i'd update with a review.
4K/256GB model
con's:
battery is quite poor for the 4K model. Brightness 25% with wifi, I get around 5 hours browsing. The battery is pretty small @ 30Whr...might be a dealbreaker for many
has trouble waking up sometimes..from reading around it's win10 problem.
folio is meh..doesn't cover keyboard end fully, designed so that it can cover up the tablet portion fully when the k/b is not used.
Chrome is really buggy on it...crashes a lot and 4K youtube isn't smooth...zero problem on using MS Edge
Dell's outsourced customer service: -10/10...I've dealt with them for years...absolute horseshit like always. Have fun waiting on the phone for hours and getting transferred multiple times.
pro's
incredible display...Sharp 4K IGZO with 400-nits & 100% Adobe RGB...probably the nicest monitor I've seen.
keyboard...backlit with 1.9mm travel...Surface's k/b cover isn't even comparable here
lightweight: 800g tablet...whole package is under 1.3kg
dead silent (fanless and zero moving parts)...runs pretty cool. SSD is a Samsung V-NAND M.2
two USB-C slots. You can hook up 2 external 4K monitors..and quite possibly an external video card next year.
build quality is great. rubberized Mg feels nice...not that cold Al unibody I'm used to.
Notes:
I was most worried about the fixed-angle in laptop mode...it's actually pretty natural on the lap for me. Beats a surface kick stand either way.
I didn't get the free Wacom pen yet. Apparently it's decent with the Wacom digitizer.
I haven't gamed on it or run benchmarks. No issues with the Core M lagging. It feels comparable to an i3/i5.
thin-ass bezels has always been my thing, but it can get awkward holding as a tablet. I don't know if there's a setting where I can be holding onto the screen and still allow multitouch.
My advise: If you want something that's more polished with better performance buy a surface pro.
if you like something a little more futureproof and/or you do editing...go with the XPS, that's if you can live with meh battery life and horrible customer service

Yup, Pro3 with the Pro4 keyboard is a great way to go. The Pro4 does look and feel a bit better, but for the savings, it's hard to beat the 3.
Thought about picking up a 4 but the pricing for a well spec'd unit turned me away. A fully loaded Pro4 is almost $3k :heckno:

Yeah. I've had mine for a few weeks. Expensive.. plus I already dropped it.. Good thing it's only my work one. Current setup at work: i7, 8gb, 256gb, Fingerprint sensor keyboard, dock, 2x 1440p 25" monitors.
