Premier Christy Clark is among those whose names are being mentioned as possibilities to replace Stephen Harper as Conservative leader.
The party announced in a statement that Harper will remain an MP in Calgary but is stepping down as leader following his election loss to Liberal Justin Trudeau.
While it's very early in the process, former cabinet minister Jason Kenney is the name mentioned most prominently as a possible candidate.
Other potential contenders include Clark, as well as MP's Kellie Leitch, Tony Clement and Lisa Raitt.
