For a sec i thought this was some kind of April Fools joke.
I'm a little surprised...but not really.
Not too much info has been released about how this will affect Youtube but seems like this is expected to change the online video landscape.

YouTube Red: $10 Per Month For Video With No Ads, Plus Streaming Music, Plus Original Content (http://gizmodo.com/youtube-really-wants-you-to-pay-for-youtube-1737829631)

YouTubers Are Up In Arms About YouTube Red$ (http://gizmodo.com/youtubers-are-up-in-arms-about-youtube-red-1738022087)

I wonder how long it will be before people start posting YouTube red original content on regular youtube. Already see some people charging for some video's.

Will this work with a canadian google account with VPN? I already pay for google music subscription which would be included with this new service. I'd be totally down to pay for VPN if it works.

Im not annoyed by youtube ads, they usually offer an option to skip the ad after 5 seconds, so whatever, and if you're stuck with one of those 30+ second ads you can't skip, just reload the video a couple times and you'll either get no ad or an option to skip

I think YouTube should realize that next generation of media service would be Oculus VR videos.

off topic but girlfriend uses it and loves it. she pays for it though so i don't think it's fair to compare unless you're talking about spotify premium. quality is good and i'm quite amused her data limit hasn't been surpassed in the last few months.

Yeah i'm talking about spotify premium. Not off topic as google music is included with YouTube red sub. Looks like i'm going to switch to Red as soon as it hits Canada as I can include artists who upload on youtube but not spotify.

I know I'm not electronically inclined, but how does that work?
What if you have 2,048 bit 128 core 1,000GHz hard drive?

Or is internet speed fundamentally limited by something else? Like LTE, 56k, etc?

I've been using GPM since the early access days. Honestly, I feel it's definitely worth the $ each month.

Wife is on a 3 month trial of GPM, uses Spotify too. Likes GPM far more.

Now as in 2005? We have plenty of speed to stream 1080p 3d SBS videos. If Youtube can stream 4k video at 60fps video it can for sure steam the video format that oculus supports.

Timpo's posts have the tendency to do that.

Though that's good, it does nothing with the YouTube app. You can get adlockers but only with jailbreaked phones
