I can't say I've ever seen any of those washes use the 2 bucket method, nor do they even rinse the wash mitt frequently. I've seen one particular shop in Richmond wash my entire car without ever rinsing their mitt.

Only difference a hand wash will give you is that it'll get to the hard to reach places like under door handles, rear license plate area (if it's recessed on your car).

However, you can't beat free. If you're just going to polish your car in the Spring anyways, why not save yourself a day of freezing your ass off outside and get a "good enough" wash for free? (or for $8 when they start charging)

Went to this today. Service was friendly and the facility was really nice.

Took my dad's van through it, his car was really dirty, came out pretty good. I don't really know about swirls, I'm sure there's tons.. but it's an old car, did the job, overall really happy.

No catch at all, there was a survey guy asking which city I lived in and where did I hear about the free car washes.

I'd probably take the old family cars there from time to time and offer my business. A+ A+, would wash again..

I trying not to mention any names, but yes, that's the place I was referring to in my comment.

The thing that bugged me the most - the way to get out a stubborn stain is to soak it to soften the stain and give it time, not to rub harder with the grubby mitt.

Went this morning- place is huge and quite nice, guy manning the wash was friendly, and it seemed to do a really good job surprisingly. Car was really shiny after, almost like a coat of wax. (I know probably super harsh chemicals, but whatever. My paint is so fucked from cone damage and rock chips)

I don't mind mentioning any names, they have pretty bad customer service from time to time, they also broke the things I had on the dash of my car while wiping it down. I have no idea why they had to wipe it down so hard as to break anything, but when I talked to the owner he just told me that it's my own fault for having anything on my dash, and pretty much just told me to leave. Pretty shitty experience.

Took my Cube and my Evo there tonight. It's really free for November and they're open 24/7! Just go there in the middle of the night for less people! Heck, go in twice LOL I have plastidipped rims and as long as you put your tire to the inside track, I had no damage!

Just remember to put the car in neutral while it's in operation and don't gas it until it says to GO at the end! So many noobs that almost hopped off the track by leaving it in park, leaving it in drive, foot on brake, and pressing the gas too early at the exit... Don't do any of that!! XD It's a little scary when you can't see anything out your windshield yet there's a car a few meters in front and behind you!

Overall it's a decent wash and will get dirt, leaves and major loose dirt off easily. Those caked on bird poop or bug splatters I'd say good old fashioned hand wash is still supreme. Can't say no to free though!

pay attention at 2:22, ull see the roller go under the acura in front of me and jack the car up, at that point he hits the brakes and then continues to roll forward. u can also see at this point my cars really close to his car. fast forward to 3:10 and u can see the line stops, u can see the acura then tries and drives off, going over 2 bumps, meaning the rollers were not pushing his rear wheels unlike at the beginning of the video.

at the end of the video u can see the acura and the car in front of him get out and check the car out so the acura hit the fiat in front.

checked my car and dont see any damages, my guess is i was just really close to his while the rollers were pushing the acuras front wheels near the end

Rain guards should be ok.
Front plates are different as they have an edge and the spinning rollers may catch that edge.
The rollers stand up and down, if that makes any sense.

Last night, the second car in front of me, the idiot kept their hands on the steering wheel and kept stepping on the brakes when they were in the machine.

i drove by Saturday night while it was pouring rain and the line up was still out the curbside.

it's the "free" concept that is luring people in.

Went though on Sunday morning, just happened to look up from my phone near the end of the wash, my front bumper was about 3 inches from the rear of the car ahead of me. Idiot decided to start tapping his breaks at some point through the drying stages and I had to lay on my breaks to avoid an incident.

The same moron was turning off his engine and going to sleep in line to get into the wash, attendant had to repeatedly yell at him to move his car forward in the line every couple minutes when there were about 5 car lengths empty in front.

Went in during a rainy day with a friend's c300, it was pretty packed still lol but not that bad. Just line up for the lane right outside of the wash. Went back with my parent's ML on a sunny day, line up practically almost until the entrance of the plaza lol. There's a brown guy who works there, I think he might be the manager or owner or something? Super chill and friendly guy, he made it a great experience. Overall the wash wasn't bad, with the ML there was still a bit of soap left on the windshield after drying, not sure if it was because of the rush or just the size of the car. Wheels were surprisingly clean. With the c300 it was great, no complaints. Wish I could bring my cars in there, but I already dislike the fact that handwash places don't wash their mitts (Senshaya does the whole car without even dipping the mitt once lol), wouldn't want to imagine how dirty the brushes from this place is :/

I would have but I was already on my way out and there was a few people that left the same time as me from the vacuum area. I'm thinking the sideskirt was installed with bolts at the front (where mudflaps would normally go), then double sided tape or something weak the whole way down.

I was able to bring my lowered mr2 there but by no means is it lowered car friendly. I only went because i used the one on terminal just fine.

I waited maybe 15-20 minutes each of the two times I went through. Unless things changed recently, both times I received their "platinum wash" which is valued at $18 as per their website. Both cars were actually quite dirty so it was worth the wait/hassle.

That happened to me too. The staff there folds the mirrors in.
My passenger side was still folded in. The mirror on the driver side flipped forward. I didn't realize until I was done the car wash so I'm not sure exactly when it had happened.

Anyway, I went to check it out on Saturday night around 12am. The line up was decently long, and from arriving to the place to driving out, took a total of approx 40 mins. The car was decently clean, but I noticed the rear was kind of dirty still. I'm not sure if it's cause my spoiler on my hatchback was blocking water from getting the backside or something.

This will probably be a one time thing, just cause I think I would rather just wash and detail my own car in the summer.

My passenger side was still folded in. The mirror on the driver side flipped forward. I didn't realize until I was done the car wash so I'm not sure exactly when it had happened.

Anyway, I went to check it out on Saturday night around 12am. The line up was decently long, and from arriving to the place to driving out, took a total of approx 40 mins. The car was decently clean, but I noticed the rear was kind of dirty still. I'm not sure if it's cause my spoiler on my hatchback was blocking water from getting the backside or something.

This will probably be a one time thing, just cause I think I would rather just wash and detail my own car in the summer.

Really people, is your time worth that little to spend an hour or so in line to save $10? cheap people :facepalm:

I waited in line and it only took 20-30 mins. The line was super long but it was pretty quick.

SHOCKED about what? TBH, there hasn't been a lot of reviews on damage, so not sure what you're basing this off of.

Most people in here are complaining about the long line up (expected, cause it's free). An accident occurred because some idiot braked. A lowered Integra got their aftermarket side skirt ripped off. Who knows if it was mounted on properly in the first place. All in all, there hasn't been damages to merit a "write-off" for this place.

I took one of my cars and had no issues however I am lerely on bringing my Camaro down if that is the case. I was looking to see what people had to say and since I didn't see anyone mention issues on the google reviews but on here people were saying how they seen cars with ground effects ripped, off, another a car hit in the wash area itself, another license damaged, another mirror broken.. I would sure say that is a lot of damaged car (reported) on here with a location just opened last month. :-)

It's always nice to have prove of what people say that's all. I won't be bringing in my car that's for sure.

Drove by the place a number of times in the past 2 weeks, usually in the morning. Every single time the place was quiet as a ghost town.

Makes me wonder whether it would make a difference had they been a touchless car wash place instead of a soft cloth place instead, and makes me wonder why they chose to be a soft cloth car wash place instead of touchless.

I work 2 minutes away from their Terminal ave location.
When the sun is out, that place is packed.

I am expecting the same for the Burnaby location.

Now, if that freeze hits and all the roads are covered in salt, then they may get some additional business.

Touchless is worse tho as in order to remove the dirt from the vehicle, they rely on HIGH POWER water sprays and very harsh detergent to melt the dirty away.

I won't go thru any touchless car wash as it just ruins my rims (Polished aluminum) and takes me over 2 hours to repolish them again as they comes out what looks like someone sprayed ACID/CEMENT all over them.

I Definitely recommend staying away from touchless car washes.

I've been through touchless car washes and the car *looks* clean but when you wipe her down, you'll see that the fine fine dirt/dust is still on the car.

Yeah, have to be very careful of touchless car washes. This is what it does to my rims and so I absolutely avoid them now.
