They could have done it in the style of Blizzard's cinematics with their art style and unique flavour/humor. Even with the same lame cliched storyline (which is the basic plot of Warcraft anyway), it would have been a fine cartoon/animated movie.

The poor CGI can be excused, fine. It will still look shitty in the end though - realistic CGI always does. Jurrasic World went from "god awful" to "not as cartoonish" between trailers, so a precedent has been set.

Every other point I made still stands though, so I can concede the shitty CGI. Point taken.

I can throw it under the bus because I know what to expect from modern action movies these days. These heavy CGI half cartoon/half movies are almost always bad. Also it's just my personal opinion, feel free to disagree. A lot of people paid money to get shit on by Transformers movies, Jurassic Park, Ultron, etc. If you enjoy that crap, fine by me. We'll disagree forever about them though. And that's fine.

This should have been done in full CGI. Blizzard has a well earned reputation for creating spectacular trailers all in CGI and I feel that the world lends itself better to that style rather than a live action.

That said, I haven't played Warcraft since it ended its days as an RTS game and have nothing invested in the WoW universe. I'm sure I'll still watch this once it pops up on Netflix but it seems far too cliche. Mind you, what video game to big screen adaption hasn't ended up sucking in the end? Final Fantasy: Spirits Within was a visual feast, but suffered from a poor storyline. The Resident Evil series is fun, but is also filled with overused cliches and poor acting. I don't expect these adaptions to win an Oscar, but it would be nice to see one set in the game universe while still trying something original.

just watched it in China. Pretty decent, what you'd expect it to be. No LOTR but if you played WoW, you'll like it. Pretty decent CGI and fight scenes, don't listen to the critics, obviously it's not winning oscars but it's good entertainment for fans of the game.

If you're a Warcraft fan, it was pure nostalgia and ways to see characters and locations put on screen which was very cool. The CGI was actually really good compared to shit like Jurassic World and Avengers.

As a movie it was trash. If I didn't know Warcraft I'd probably give it 2/10 for the graphics and fight scenes. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone who doesn't know the universe.

It's your typical comic book movie where you get to see your favourite characters on screen with all the CGI and fight sequences. It's never going to win any movie awards, but you go into the movie expecting that because you're a fan that's just excited to see it on the big screen.

On my server it was very rare for horde to be doing any good in the world PVP zone [I forgot what it was called.. that island with world pvp events in it]

They always seemed to have an actual organized group going around doing things together, while horde players would just run around doing their own shit

world pvp is a different animal. on burning blade you didn't see too much world pvp other than shit disturbers. but ya we'd group and camp dungeon entrances or daily quest areas until someone would complain and bring more horde for us to crush...this was with my friends though...

So I finally saw it at home on a smallish screen slightly baked and a gf than last 5 mins into the movie and fell asleepLUL

I actually thought it was awesome. Wasn't expecting much but had some nerdgasm moments. Seeing all the location and spotting some of the Easter egg was nice.

Actually got me back into playing the game :fullofwin: after many year away. Started playing on a wotlk private server.

Overall I don't know why people game it such a bad score I thought it was a easy 7.5/10
