No one else has watched this yet? I've only caught the first two episodes but so far I'm enjoying it. The casting seems to be pretty solid, though the girl that plays Trish feels a little off.

i was only able to watch the 1st, slept, then woke up early and only managed half of the 2nd... can't binge watch when you have to work at 5am :(

I only just realized it was available, from a google ad on youtube, got something to do now at least :)

Watched the first one, was pretty good. Setup the story pretty well... looking forward to the second one to see if it can keep me hooked.

First ep was good, will watch the rest. Here's hoping she doesn't end up wearing a goofy costume

up to episode 6, it's up and down, not bad i guess but not great

the gratuitous gyrations (no nudity after all) has been cut down some in the last couple episodes, thankfully

power man seems pretty weak so far (luke cage)

i dont get why they keep showing Neo's GF's personal life, hope it leads somewhere because so far it's just zzzzzzz
(edit: ohh googled her character, she has some significance in the comics)

Holy cow i didn't realize that was trinity from the matrix!

Yah show is up and down so far. Pretty slow especially at the beginning. But once the villain appeared it got much more interesting

So far I find it reasonably entertaining. Better than most of the marvel crap

I thought this was just okay. This coming from a biased big superhero fan.

Nothing about it blew me away and given the story i feel it could have been done in fewer episodes instead of dragging it out.

When can we talk spoilers?

not until i finish lol.... i am only on ep 11

StylinRed

overall i give JJ a 'meh' rating

it's not over until it's over! :p

really? meh? :(

i fail at binge watching... and i still haven't watched a single episode of daredevil yet :o

StylinRed
11-25-2015, 11:33 AM
yeah it didnt feel like it was put together well enough, and what was there had a lot of lows and some highs

might just be my expectations

you should totally watch DareDevil, it has its lows and needless/lame moments too, but they were few

i appreciate the always broken door of the PI's office though. Not sure if the comic is like that, but PI films/books have always done it since...forever

I enjoyed this
but didnt like the ending

Good show but where the hell is Shield? They would have gotten him in no time. Barley be enough for one EP. Fitz and Jemma would find some way to stop his mind control. Daisy would hack into NY camera's and find him. A team would do down ice him and he would be locked up in one of those white cubes. end of story.

Show just didn't have the same appeal to me like Daredevil. I felt that was so much more entertaining.

I believe all 4 shows take place in DD. Dare Devil, Luke Cage, Jes Jones, and Iron Fist. The 4 eventually come to form the Defenders.

Too bad Spider-Man is too big a character and used only for movies. He's pretty much a Hell's Kitchen guy too. Fights local crime and teams up with daredevil a lot. He would be the best cameo ever if they could work out a deal.

I'm going to agree with some comments above.

I just didn't get enticed to watch more, like I did with Daredevil or Narcos.

I liked it. I found that daredevil got better and better kinda like an upwards staircase.

JJ started off high and kinda fluctuated up and down so the end was less awesome.

Is it just me,
Or did you guys not empathize with JJ that much?

The extent of how the physical and mental torture Killgrave put her through was picked up in conversation. A bit.
But even then, it didn't get gritty and gruesome.

And the flashbacks we saw, showed very little in the way of physical trauma as well.

In the comics, Killgrave forces her to watch him have sex,
and makes her beg for it continuously.
I think he made her jump non-stop too? (which they gave to Hope?)

Like Killgrave comes off as an asshole,
but not the deranged, psychopath that some YouTubers described him to be in the comics.
Was I upsold to have unrealistic expectations?
Or did it feel like the show played that part just a little too safe?

He made JJ jump too. Hope said "He made me jump but said you were way better" or something like that. I'm guessing he was watching her do her super jumps really high, over and over again.

Yea I think they down play his ruthlessness a lot. That kind of power with someone not ashamed of using it has potential for some evil evil shit. Being a TV show though I'm sure they were very limited. For instance the death of buddy in her bed. That could have been a very gruesome, sick scene had they the mindset to do it. You get a small taste of it though "Lets see how long it takes you to bash your head through that Pillar." for instance.

I agree, I didn't feel for JJ at all but with that said the style in which this and DD are done is still way more refreshing and enjoyable for me vs the really PG network TV stuff like Shield, Flash, Arrow. Not that there's no room for my enjoyment with those styles but sometimes I just want the opposite.

Also it's hard to empathize with her when they really didn't touch to much on the trauma he did to her. How long was she under his control? What kinds of evil shit did he make her do? They touch on a small portion, but overall we are just left to our imagination. One murder, some jumping, some digging, it's hard to feel hatred just because we are told he's the bad guy...
