Hey guys,

Long story short. I got hit and run incident on my vehicle. Due to the weather and low light conditions I can't see the plate # clearly. I was hoping one of you RS video guru's may be able help out with zooming in. If I can get some sort of partial plate # would be helpful.

Seems I'm not having much luck with my car lately. :*( :QQ:

Serious note check to see if your footage has the person in it and see what shop they came from. Possible they are a regular or you can get contact info. Just a thought.

hate to tell u this, but at that angle the lexus left and the rain is gonna make it impossible to find out the plate. do u have a rear cam? if u do u might have caught the plate when u reverse in, if u dont then GG

+1 - rain or not, you barely see the end of the plate on that angle, you'd get MAYBE the first character if it wasn't raining. Also, the compression is set pretty high, which reduces the quality a fair bit.

UPDATE: I went in to the grocery store to ask for a copy of the surveillance video so I could at least submit the video of his face, and then try and see when the surveillance store opened to ask them for a video. I was still a little discouraged but not much you can do.

As I come out, guess what car I see? A gold Lexus RX300. I hop in and give a short chase (he only went across the street). IT'S THE SAME FUCKER IN THE VIDEO. So I snapped a picture of his plate, and the damage on his car which match up with my video. My paint is still on his car.

So now I have my DVR footage, surveillance of him in the store, and getting into his RX, His plates number, and picture of the damage to his rear passenger fender. Talk about CRAZY luck.

Are you reporting it to the RCMP? He'd probably get a ticket for failing to remain at the accident scene.

What a fuckin' douche taking off like that. Can't say I'm surprised though. Richmond is just terrible for anything driving related. Crazy you caught buddy at the scene later on; what are the chances right? Pretty much a slam dunk with all the evidence you have now. I'd definitely be looking for a failure to remain at the scene charge but it is a light hit and he could just say he didn't feel it. I'm betting he DID in fact feel the bump but drove away like a fuckin' weasel trying to scam.
