So my friend has a US buyer for his car. Problem is it doesn't conform to US requirements apparently.
This is the message that was sent to the buyer from GM
"Please note that this vehicle does not comply with the labeling requirements of FMVSS No. 208
--------------------
Occupant Crash Protection. The vehicle can only be imported as a conforming motor vehicle under Box 2B if the importer furnishes Customs with an invoice from a franchised dealer or other commercial entity showing that the required Passenger Airbag Status Indicator display or labelling has been applied to the vehicle."
--------------------
I know the car has airbag labels on the visors, and the airbag status indicator in the mirror, so we're not sure what else is required.
The one thing I know for sure is that the indicator in the mirror is an image of the airbag whereas the US model has text that says 'Passenger Airbag'. Would that make a difference?
Anyone run into something like this?
