Hey guys,

I know that stainless steel will last longer and is less prone to rust compared to aluminized steel and I also know that I should be on the look out for 304 grade if I choose stainless steel. However, is it really necessary to have stainless steel in Vancouver?

I am trying to pick out a cat back exhaust system for my 01 1.8t GTI and I like 42DD's 3" cat back but they charge an extra 375 to give a stainless steel finish, I'd really rather not spend that much more if its not necessary.

If you guys have any other opinions on a good cat back system with a loud deep rumble and aggressive sound let me know.

Thanks

You don't need it, unless you are going for the flashy appeal. I had galvanized on my Cummins for 3 year and it looked great after winters in Alberta and vancouver.

Also before you order online it might be worth it to check out local sponsors and see how much a simple custom cat back exhaust would cost in both materials.
