How are the road conditions leading up to the cypress bowl? I have michelin pilot sport a/s 3 on and never driven on the snow with them before so I am taking precautions whether or not I would need to get snow tires just for the trip? Not sure how these tires will perform in the snow but I do not want to get stuck up there!

Well by new provincial law, winter (M+S or snowflake) tires are mandatory for Cypress Bowl Road so...

Last night it was pretty clear up until the parking lot. I almost got stuck in the parking lot, even with snow tires. There were 2 cars in the ditch on the way up.

Pilot sport a/s 3 are an m+s tire so he is legal.

M+S is mud and snow (light snow): Most all-season tires fall under this category. According to tire rubber regulation, M+S tires are acceptable in light snow conditions. From standard to severe conditions, winter tires are recommended (3-peaked mountain and snowflake on sidewall).

Went up on Saturday, was snowing pretty hard and saw multiple cars in the ditch. The parking lots also had a ton of snow, around 5-6 inches deep. A lot of cars were stuck, even with snow tires, so I would avoid driving there with all seasons if it is snowing.

However, if the day is clear, the roads should be clean but may be a bit slippery so you will be fine as long as you don't drive like an idiot.

Michelin AS3s are not rated favourably on Tire Rack for even light snow conditions so take it easy if you do decide to go up.

Get some Michelin XIce or Continental WinterContact SI tires on there.

It's cheaper to get the tires and get there safely than getting yourself into a ditch and paying for the tow + damages.

ive driven everyday on them for 2+ years, dont think weve had much snow in that time. been up to cypress plenty of times in the winter too, but theres never any snow on the roads up there either.

Make sure you plan ahead for such a lengthy and challenging trip up to Cypress!!

By looking at the thread design, I would imagine these tires would perform terribly in the snow. These are a sporty tire just as it says in its name.
