Hey guys I'm looking to buy a gaming chair, I wasn't sure where to post it, I thought this would be the best sub-forum.
Does anyone use a gaming chair? I've been using my office chair for a long time and the padding wear down a lot so it's finally time to upgrade.
I'm looking for suggestions to buy it locally or order online, if anyone has any specific brands or specific models I would really appreciate it.

I'm deciding between these two. No one I know has heard of the brands so I'm not sure on the quality however the first one does have a big discount and looks amazing. I would like to spend $200 on one but my budget is $300 + taxes/shipping tops

no point in spending 600$ for a gaming chair not unless you have money to burn.
Staples Hyken Technical Mesh Task Chair, Black | Staples® (http://www.staples.com/Staples-Hyken-Technical-Mesh-Task-Chair-Black/product_990119)
this is what i use and just bought my second one, first one lasted me 3 years, im 190lbs and it supports me with no leg cramps/numbness what so ever. with the mesh back and seat it feels nice becuase of air circulation keeps me cool and in the winter time i have a portable heater blasting behind me to keep me toasty. my gaming sessions on avg is about 3 hours with no complaints. i do have a custom foot stool(made it out of wood covered in carpet) raised and angled to give me extra support.
my buddy has the Dx racers seat and it is very good/supportive but im too cheap and can be pleased easier.

seems kinda cheesy to me... but if you're into this kinda stuff, then check out Maxnomics.

I was browsing some Linus Tech Tips videos, and he seems to recommend Maxnomics over all these other 'gaming' chair brands.

thats cause hes probably getting sponsored big time by maxnomics. he first reviewed dxracer chairs and i see some of the people using them in his office in the videos, then maxnomics came along and all his chairs got switched out for maxnomics

$600 for a gaming chair? :fuckthatshit:
If you're paying that kind of money, it's almost stupid to not pay extra for a herman miller, steelcase or equivalent chair. One day you'll grow up and that racing seat in your office will look like an expensive mistake.

should buy that $400USD Gaming Desk from DXRacer as well
If you like the look of any of these chairs, go ahead and buy it for it's looks. A car seat is designed to support you when you have 1G of lateral loading. If there is no lateral load, the support is not needed.
I have sat on an Aeron chair and I don't like the feel of sitting on stretched mesh. I think the Aeron chair is all about its unique looks and fashion.

I got the DXRacer when it was $150 in 2013. It's pretty comfortable. Wouldn't spend over 250 for one now.

TBH though, gaming chair is not worth the investment. Getting a true ergonomic and quality chair is the way to go. Your back will thank you few years down.

don't get a dxracer... unless it's cheap. these things can only be sit in. if you're watching a movie or something, you can't like, lean back and relax for a long time.
i once had a chair where i can lean back and put my legs on the arm rest and still felt comfortable. the height of the head rest was just perfect so that i could rest my almost horizontally on it.
there is no one chair that is the "best". go to staples or wherever they have chairs out for test. sit in it in all kinds of positions, yes literally i mean every position you can think of. it's a chair you'll be using for the next year or two, it's best you get that one suits you. not some hype about "gaming" chair.

IMO, a Herman Miller chair is the best chair for workstation type seating.

yeah I decided spending 200 or 300 bucks on a chair is kind of steep even if it's 50% off

got it down to these 2, I like the red on the first one since it matched the LEDs in my pc, keyboard, mouse and headphones. The second one looks hella comfy though

If you're spending that much money, get an Aeron. Gaming chair? Give me a break...does it help your K:D ratio or whatever? Get something from Herman Miller. That shit is tried and true...plus the warranty.
When you get bored of video games, that Aeron will still be in great condition and will look so baller in your place compared to a weird white Tron looking chair.

Chairs are one of those things where you have to try them out before hand. There are office chairs out there that I really like, but others hate. Some like hard cushions, others like soft. Some prefer leather, some prefer mesh. And the thing is, while you may have some sort of idea of what you want, when you sit down in it, you might find that the lumbar support is in a poor location, or the seat base cuts off circulation in your legs, or something else.
Also, most of those chairs you posted aren't "gaming" chairs. They're simply inspired by car seats and usually aren't good for extended periods of sitting regardless of if it's word processing or level grinding that you're doing.
Lots of people swear by the Aeron, though I'm personally not a big fan of mesh backs. I have a leather Serta mid-back chair that's four or five years old now and it's been, more or less, comfortable and trouble free.
If you want comfort, might be worth looking at Serta or LaZboy desk chairs. If you want correct posture, look into Tempurpedic or Herman Miller. If you simply want something comfortable without breaking the bank, most chairs sold in brick and mortar stores between $150 and $300 will be more than sufficient.

IMO, you're going to pay an extra 20% for a 'gaming' chair. I would just look at any type of chair that fits your criteria and look up reviews online about them and see what the downfalls are of the chair.

DXracer is 20% off now

I have this DXRacer chair: https://www.dxracer.ca/product/oh-rc0-nw/
Bought it on sale back in 2014 Boxing Day at Visions for around $350.
Very comfy and the cushions still feel new, unlike the Staples chair that flattens out over a few years.

Hey Happy!
My name is John,
Last week my computer chair started crapping out. So i decided to buy a new one ,my friend suggest me to go with a Dx Gaming Chair as he is using one of them but to get sure i visited some of the dx chair Review sites such as DXRacer Gaming Chairs - Office Chairs | Chairs4Gaming (http://chairs4gaming.com/)
Find Reviews Of The Best DX Racer Chair - DX Racer Chair Reviews (http://www.dxracerchairreviews.com/)
and after some research I decided to buy this one DX Racer FD99 in $250 from Amazon.com
And I like the 1st one from which of 2 you mentioned .
The reviews are right, this chair is amazing. The quality is superb and the comfort level is great. Only downside was the price, but you get what you pay for.
Hope these review sites are helpful to you :)
