anyone getting this? suppose to be like Destiny but more of a shooter taking place in New York. looks like a fun coop game. the only thing I dont like is that it uses Uplay and not steam which is garbage.

The player is part of the Strategic Homeland Division (SHD), or "The Division" for short - a classified stay-behind force of self-supported tactical agents. Leading seemingly ordinary lives, SHD agents are trained to operate independently of command when all else fails. This group is established to combat the threat brought about by the outbreak and are given direct authority by the President of the United States to do whatever it takes to prevent the fall of society and piece the city back together. Throughout the game, the agents will find themselves caught in a worldwide conspiracy and will be forced to combat both the threats of the virus as well as those who unleashed it.

The Division takes place in mid-crisis New York, an open world with destructive environments that is free for players to explore. The player's mission is to restore order by investigating the source of a virus. Players have to team up with other Division agents as they progress. The game's core mechanics are similar to other third-person-shooters, in which player character can carry three weapons, and explosives like sticky bombs and smart mines to fight against enemies.[3] Players may take cover behind objects during firefights to avoid taking damage from enemies, and to give them a tactical advantage when attacking. As the game is set in a third-person perspective, the character model is visible.[4]

The graphical downgrade is OK in my opinion. You can youtube the graphical comparisons.

Although there are quite a few downgrades, I feel like the average viewer wouldn't notice it. (I sure didn't notice until it was pointed out. But of course, once it's pointed out, you won't stop noticing it haha).

From recent reviews of alphas and other gameplays, the game still sounds good to me!

The "cameras" you refer to are "Landmark" locations. In the full game, most of them will be areas where you can loot, or they're simply just landmarks in New York for you to refer to on the map.

Contamination zones typically contain loot which can only be opened with "Dark Zone Keys." These keys are usually random drops, and in the beta it seems that many of the chests are disabled anyway (In the alpha, you needed a DZ rank of 30 to open most of them anyway...).

^ groups of 4. talking about party's and matchmaking, the UI and the whole system is pretty flawless and pretty.
Really want to get it for PC, but that means I gotta upgrade my PC soon and all my friends are on XB1. After playing the beta playing solo is pretty awful, and even tho you can queue up with randoms in the DZ, it's not the same without proper communication.

Played the beta on Friday on PC and its a beautiful game (GTX 970). The UI was very modern and I enjoyed the map view. Only gripe I have is that running from one location to the other can get boring along the streets.

If you want to use a mouse and keyboard on console you can the technology does exist. I do agree though trying to play a shooter on console with a controller is fucking painful.

What system do you play on?

I was playing alone for the Beta, went into the dark zone and had some fun moments. Bumped into a huge crowd of people at an extraction and we all did jumping jacks. We all lined up and extracted our stuff, and then another group came and went rogue on us.

I ended up splitting off from those strangers and went on a solo rogue hunt. The rogue squad was busy fighting the crowd at the extraction, and I went around and found cover and began sniping them hahaha

Aside from some of those fun experiences, I do agree it gets lonely. My bro is going to get a PS4 soon so I have him atleast xD :alonehappy:

I think there are more enemies when you have teammates (based on youtube videos that I watched). The same quest seemed to have spawned more enemies per area than normal.

Also, there is hardmode. Which isn't really HARD if you turtle and slowly pick off enemies.

Exactly, there are more enemies with more people and you can change the difficulty which gets you more experience. On hard with a group of 4 it is more challenging.

I don't think being High Level in PVE and low in DZ will put you at a huge "disadvantage" per se.

If you farm PVE to max level (30?), you will be equipping level 30 gear. Odds are, by then, you'll be using a bunch of the Purple Rarity gear as well.

When you go into the DZ, you're still level 30, with the same gear. But your DZ level is separate. The DZ level will restrict you in terms of what DZ gear you can wear.

Of course, I could be wrong. I am just going by what it feels like. For the Beta, I only went into the DZ after getting some "decent" gear from PVE. In the DZ, I still had all my PVE gear on, while being DZ level 1.

Yes, you have two levels it's kind of weird. The better gear requires a combination of levels before you can wear it. If you want the good gear you're going to have to level up in both zones. All the best gear is in the Dark Zone.

loved the game til I got into DZ took me forever to get to DZ level 12. doing it solo in DZ is not fun.. ever. I can't trust anyone its rather annoying. Especially when people don't use mics and you can't communicate friend or foe. I don't have many xb1 friends, so I probably won't pick this game up until that changes.

I went through my Library and it was there.

It took a few tries, I think the server was slow or something. After you find Division in your Library, click it, and the download button should be there.

At first the download button didnt do anything. I closed it, and went back in, then the download button disappeared. Then I tried again, and the download button appeared again, but this time it started working.

DPS vs damage will sorta depend on the type of gun / situation.

A shotgun or Marksman rifle may have lower dps due to slow fire rates, but do so much damage in the right situations that dps is no longer the important factor.

For example, those guys who rush at you, one shot with the shotgun into their face is enough. It is easier than a higher dps assault rifle in that situation for example.

Or picking off high hp targets / bosses with marksman rifle.

I personally prefer lower rate of fire assault rifles with higher damage over higher rate of fire. I'm not great at controlling recoil, so I prefer slower but higher damage assault rifles. If the dps is slightly lower, but damage per shot is better, I'll usually keep it.

I ended up purchasing through Steam so the game was linked to my account, I was going to use CDKey's but the price has went up and the savings weren't worth not having it as a steam game.

I played a couple hours last night, got to lvl 10 in the PVE area. It's so annoying having to do those Beta levels again but I got them over with. It's nice having lots of side missions to complete, you can get into the action within a minute in any direction.

It looks like the DZ goes from level 1-14 and then not sure what level groupings after that but I didn't go inside to confirm. I'm just trying to decide whether I want to level up to 30 before entering the DZ or stop at 14 and level my DZ level up before continuing to work on my other level.

Sidenote, check the levels before you do a mission. I start a mission yesterday that's a bunch of levels to high for me, didn't even notice they had recommended levels before doing them. On a corner slightly west of the start of the Lincoln Tunnel mission, there's a fabric loot location called Strands 99 (Hudson Yards district). On radar I can see more loot on the roof, but can't find a way up. Anyone get there?

EDIT: nm...so stupid, need to visit new safe house in this area, view the side mission board, and THEN a door at this building magically becomes openable and you can get on this roof.

Was playing with a friend last night, we we're doing the main story line but missions that we're 2-3 levels higher then ours. There was a lot of dying but we'd generally gain a level and a half each time we would complete it, get items that are good for our level and it was a lot more fun then grinding side quests or missions we already beat for XP.

It's fun with friends. My friends and I managed to get 6 of us in the same dark zone instance and we just wrecked shit.

Same goes for the missions. With four people, on hard, they're great.

My complaint is that the game's depth is in all the extras...like the loot system, customization, etc while the actual gameplay and shooting parts...I feel like we're going to run out of content quick.

I'm not sure what triggers this, or if this was always the case, but after you clear all of the encounters in the area, all of the intel items get revealed on the map in that area?

That is both great and bad, since I ended up spending close to 2 hours running back and forth grabbing all the intel that was revealed on my map.

you should just matchmake and hit the darkzone now. I went when I was level 9 and most of the enemies were around level 5-15. I beleive once you hit level 15 theres a different dark zone for higher levels or something

I'm level 26, finished the main story line missions. I went into the darkzone for the first time tonight at lvl 25 and it was pretty empty of players. That said the ones that were there were mostly lvl 29 and killing on site because there was nobody to kill them once they went rouge.

Did that for a bit, got a bunch of purple drops but after getting ganked a few times figured fuck it I'll come back when I'm 29 or 30. Leveled really quick in the DZ, 1-15 in about an hour and a half and we fucked around a bunch of that time.

One difference from the beta (it probably was because there was so few players in the instance of the DZ i was in) but there was a ridiculous amount of NPC's. You'd be fighting one group getting attacked in the back by another group and a 3rd group would come up from an ally on the side. You did not have to walk far to find a fight.

after 30 hours into the game here is my thought.

1.you should be able to crouch anywhere and not only in cover.
2. dogs should be able to attack you+ you should be able to control a dog as a skill
3. sometimes when I want to kick someone from the group, if I accidentally double tap it ends up with me leaving the group
4. I like the fact that if you disconnect or if your game crashes you have a certain amount of time to rejoin the same game/group
5. you should be able to lock your weapons/mods so you don't accidentally sell something and lost it.
6. you should be able to rebuy an item that you sold from the vendor in case you did sell by accident or want it back for a short period of time
7. darkzone is meh. there is too high of a penalty for going rogue which makes everyone friendly

I sense a dlc in the future with zombies in the works. could totally see the virus mutating and turning people into zombies. that be awesome

I don't know...I'll have to check. I'm almost all purpled out with mostly firearms and stamina. Firearms is probably 3:2 to stamina. I hit level 29 yesterday and I think I'll keep it there for a few DZ levels before I go to level 30.

My sniper rifle does 25k regular body shots but I've seen crit headshots hit for over 120k. I use a blue level 27 AUG as my secondary.

I have soloed every mission on hard so far. I even soloed a four-man hard mode mission on day when I went in with 3 friends that were level 13-15 and I was level 23. All the mobs were level 23 so they couldn't hurt shit hahhahah.

But really the game just isn't very hard when leveling. I've probably died under 10 times soloing hard mode missions.

Too late! I'm level 30 hahaha. Yeah, when I was level 29, I debated whether or not to go DZ. But since I didn't have anyone to go in with, I decided to just finish off my level.

I'll probably spend some more time farming Phoenix credits etc, before heading into the DZ so I'm not totally under geared compared to other level 30s

If you stack them together you will do TONS of dmg.
I was doing 400k headshot crit on my purple First Wave M1A.

The 3 currency system is kind of dumb IMO. I've collected about a million and a half of the regular credits, 90,000 of the DZ credits and another 400 or so of the Phoenix credits. I just hit 30/30 so I can finally start spending some of my dz and phoenix credits but most the decent items are 30/50.

take advantage of this simple trick to farm 1-3 phoenix credits at a time. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it only takes around 60 seconds to do. You’ll need to be level 30 before Phoenix Credits mean anything to you.

First, go to the Autumn’s Hope safe house. Make sure you have the Pulse perk equipped.

Run out the door and turn right, then left. You’ll see four Rikers gang members. Pulse them so you can see which one is the high-end yellow named boss named Bullet King

Focus your fire and kill him then pick up his drops. You will get 1-3 Phoenix Credits each time. You also get purple gear/weapons and there’s a chance he’ll drop the yellow high-end gun Caduceus.

Let the rest of the gang kill you, (or run back to the safehouse through the doors) respawn at the same safe house and repeat.

if you already completed the mission, join a random persons game with free roam and tell them to make you group leader and leave. otherwise the dude wont respawn if you have already killed everyone. might also have to do all the supply drops and stuff around the area before he spawns

I fully modded that cadecus to run all yellow gear which is op as fuck. nothing beats my marksman rifle though. for a purp class gear, even with the ton of purple gear drop I got so far from playing, nothing has come close to beating it.

with 3-4 people and the right crew we can do it twice within a minute almost lol.

soon as you exit the safehouse and make the right and just before your about to make that left, use your pulse. if theres more then 2 people using it, it stacks up and you do a ton of damage if you got marksman rifles. we usually just snipe the dude and then run back to the safehouse. make sure you go through the doors and back. it saves you a ton of time rather then pick every item each drop and killing yourself.

im sitting on about 1.3mill credits and 30 of each yellow parts + some yellow weapon parts/gear lol

before farming, I tried doing the daily challenge you get after hitting 30. all 4 of us, level 30 got instanly rektd lol

Got my 3rd Caduceus already. 3 of them all within ONE hour of farming (1 hour total time).

My DPS is now at ~112k, but only like 50k hp. Going to start working towards building more stamina, and try to keep my DPS in that area.

With all of the easy Pheonix credits from this farm, I bought the extended mag blueprint and made a 101% extra ammo and 7% crit rate on my first craft! :D

60 bullets in my Caduceus is so fun! The heal from crits is making hard mode daily challenges a cake walk. Still can't really do Challenge mode though

yeap. sometimes my healthbar dosent fully heal for some reason. and been getting the Mike error all night/morning randomly or when trying to join other peoples games.

Another quick farm for phoenix coins is by doing the lexington event center on challenge mode. you get 30 phoenix coins and one yellow gear at the end. takes about 15-30 with a solid 4 man 30 level crew

EDIT: Ok, spent some phoenix credits on blue prints, and now I'm at ~112k DPS, 78k HP, with a bit more armor than before. Lowered my DPS by dropping some Crit Damage for more Crit Chance to synergize with Caduceus healing!

If it's empty that means another group has already cleared it. Try going to a different one/area and it should respawn eventually. or exit the DZ and go back in.

What you could also do is, if you find another group while in the DZ, ask them if you could tag along. Solid when you have 6-8 guys roaming together. Just make sure you tag the named elite bosses at least once with a bullet to get the rewards if there is more then on group attacking the same landmark/boss


Also, make sure you guys save your DZ divisiontech. I thought for the longest time that it just allows you to craft into any high end material you want, but when you hit DZ rank 50 you actually need it for the blueprints

lol ouch... I lost a High End magazine. But doesn't matter to me, because I have the blueprints to make better ones. Still, things got so chaotic.

I realized I'm friggen weak compared to other people. I thought 100k dps is atleast average. But rogues melt me so fast, and I do crap damage to them.

On another topic, forgive this SUPER NOOB question:

How the heck do you start a daily mission with matchmake if you are the group leader??!?! I must be overlooking something super obvious, but da heck I can't start the mission.

People who end up in my party through matchmake yelling at me on the mic to "restart the mission".

I'm standing at the mission entrance, trying to start it and I don't see any way to do so. I tried resetting difficulty, etc etc. What am I missing?!?!

There were times when I am group leader and I manage to start the mission by re-clicking the difficulty setting. But other times nothing I do activates the mission.

Got a High End M4 from daily hard mode today. The last mission has a few named enemies, and one of them dropped it.

The DPS is decent, due to fire rate, but actual damage per bullet is lower than Caduceus. Very low recoil considering the crazy fire rate, and has extra enemy armor damage talent and reload speed talent. (Don't have the last talent activated due to no electronics).

I'm sticking with Caduceus until I get something significantly better though.

If you wear a chest piece and backpack that has plus Ammo, restock and then put your other armor back on you still have the extra ammo.

Big thanks to Vanderstam for posting about those Agent videos and the prerelease code to get the EMS/Police/Fire/Hunter sets. The EMS bag can be used to get 2 extra medkits, and the Police bag allows 75% more ammo when restocking. Equip them to restock at safe house, then switch to your regularly used bag and you'll still have the extra stuff.

With this exploit, as long as you're OK spending extra seconds swapping bags, there's no reason to have +ammo capacity as an attribute on any of your regularly equipped gear.

Sounds good! Im looking for people to just do leveling and loot runs. Mostly want to get dz levels and crafting materials from purple drops.

Balancing armor and stamina is good i think. My situation for example, boosted my effective hp by alot more than the hp i lost from stamina. Lower hp is also easier to heal with skills etc.

Aim for their gas tanks on their backs. They explode after 2-3 hits.


Just finished crafting Vectors and AK. Rolled 4 of each. Now both have added Critical Damage and Increased Armor damage. AK had the added benefit of restoring my health after a kill too. Super stoked.

Anyone feels it is like Diablo 3 vanilla?
Rare loots which is hard to farm and after you get the loot, high chance the loot might be crap. RNG drops on top of RNG stats roll for item.

I feel like they need to give better ways for people to farm loots. Then maybe people don't have to be looking for exploits to farm loots?
I doubt the new DLC next month will fix the loot issue, but lets hope it fix some of the stupid bugs!

Blueprints are fine the problem comes when you need division tech to create anything from those blueprints you buy in the DZ. Once you hit 50 all you do is run around looking for Div Tech and hope you get a yellow because the greens and blues might as well be garbage as they are all but useless. You can't even combine blues to make yellows like you can with weapons parts ect..

So you're running around looking for the boxes that have DT, they respawn every 2 hours. If you're lucky enough to find one that hasn't been looted then you're hoping that you luck out and get a yellow. Once you get three of those elusive fuckers you can craft one piece of armor or one weapon, you rolled bad? Oh shit better luck next time. I spent 3 hours running around and didn't get 1 yellow Div Tech, other days I might get 2 or 3 in an hour it's just so fucking random.

It ain't all sunshine and roses once you get leveled up, if anything it makes you think they put zero thought into what happens once you hit 50. Regular credits I have millions I'll never need another credit as long as I play. DZ credits, again hundreds of thousands with most blueprints already bought and even Phoenix Credits aren't that bad to get but Yellow Division Tech FML.

The only thing left to do in this game is run around and loot DT boxes in the DZ, was hoping for something a little more.

not sure exactly how, but the way I did it was by kicking people who were joining my game for the mission and then other people joining. I presume they were still on the loading screen into my game when they got kicked thats why their still in the same server/mission

I was farming tunnel and got a HE 31 MP5 Navy. It's a BEAST...with a 100% mag and 30% ROF, it just tears shit up. ROF is as high as the Vector but with twice the mag size.

They can be sitting on a rooftop waiting for us to come up a rope and fucks could be given, just pop that T at the top and watch them fall. We time it so one of us will use it first once it runs out the other guy will use it, you don't take much damage when it's active. As far as weapons, the Vector is still pretty broken especially close range which most Rogue fights I've been in happen. Typically I won't even engage in PVP if my Survivor Link is down unless I have no choice. If you use it and the other guy does not I'd be shocked if you lost the fight regardless of gear on either side.

Last night I was bored and planning to log off, so I tried the wall glitch to wrap around DZ6.

Turns out there are 2 Division tech crates up there, and it appears not many people go up there. Got 3 HE division tech just for popping through the wall lol. (one crate dropped 2 yellows)

Ended up playing a bit with Faptron... not sure what is RS name is.

Problem for me right now is I think I'm only DZ rank 30. Taking me so long to level up.

As for regular HE drops, I have gotten quite a few so far. Mostly weapon and gear mods. A few weapons, but nothing very good. Most of the purples I use are better :<

soo after spending 3 hours doing the Russian Consulate glitch I got about 7 new high end weapons with 5 or so being duplicates. a big WTF since it took me about 80 hours into this game before I got another high end weapon drop asides from the cadacedus, which I obtained from doing the bulletking glitch farm from before. this game loot system is so broken lol.

I heard the best weapon you can get from that farm is the socom/first wave M1 the sniper rifle.

with the Russian Consulate farm the best method I found is to shoot the wall beside the fence on the outside to the left, above the sandbags until it leaves a giant open hole. now if you all crouch where that green sandbags are when the boss respawns, he will stay in one spot. it takes about 5-10 mins to shoot a giant hole through the wall and you might need to shoot it from both sides to open it up.

also, whoever is the runner for the respawn. its alot quicker to run outside to activate the boss and then fast travel to one of your teammates rather then run outside and back to them and risk being killed.

I also found a method where you can crouch/jump through the fence instead of using the extended shield on both sides. what you do is from the outside, crouch where the green beanbag is you use for cover and as soon you kinda turn to move to the other side of the bag for cover hit the jump button and you should be able to jump through the fence. same method for when your inside, trying to leave. hit the wall thats on the left and as your turning to move into cover jump and you should be outside

the vector is pretty much the best PVP weapon if you can get all the critical/increase damage rolls on it. I tried crafting 10 of them and couldent get one with the same stats as my buddy so i gave up lol

Just joined matchmaking into the Lincoln Tunnel Challenging mode, and it was one of those 20+ people games lol, it was quite fun, they reset the mission 3 times before I left.

I just ran around picking up items and shooting enemies with my sidearm (So I don't have to crowd with 20 people around the ammo boxes). The mission took like 10 minutes to beat with all those people lol

Got a few highend stuff, but scrapped most of it.

I then crafted an Blackmarket AK, got Crit rate and Crit damage talents! Unfortunately, didn't get stability as the third talent. Boosted my dps by 20k over Caduceus!

That's the thing with the Vector, you can keep crafting them over and over they cost you nothing but some material that's easy to get. All my gear is HE, I have 6 HE guns as well, none of the ones I have are as effective as the Vector but I wouldn't mind a HE MP5 like Ronin has because the clip size on the Vector can be annoying.

I made probably 10-15 Vectors. Best roll was damage to armor and damage to elites.

I tried it out on the targeting dummy...45k headshot critical. I know it could be more but my rate of fire is 950 or so and with a mag of 60, it just eats everything in front of it. Would've been nice to get Fierce and Deadly or whatever but Accurate isn't too bad. I just hold down the trigger and all the bullets fly into people's faces.

my buddys does 90k critical but dude made like 40 of them before he got it lol

finally hit level 50 DZ after grinding it out for 11 hours from level 43-50 lol

what should I buy from the DZ vendors?

got the mp5+sawed off blueprints. was debating between buying the mp5 blueprint or just the gun from DZ06 since the weapon does more dmg, but has a smaller mag size compared to the blueprint one.

mp5 may have more rounds (65) but my vector still does more dmg (40 rounds) compared to both versions. was gonna grab the custom m44 blueprint too, but the one I found earlier today also does more dmg with just less rounds. I really want that first wave/socom M1 though heard its beast.

hard choices lol. trying to figure out what gear I wanna get too. hard to balance em out but I noticed the gear you find randomly is sometimes better then anything you can craft/buy

The patch tonight corrects consulate and tunnel farming as well as >4 people in missions.
