Have been wanting to make this recipe:
Xoi Gac Red Sticky Rice Recipe (http://www.theravenouscouple.com/2009/12/xoi-gac-red-sticky-rice-recipe.html)

Anyone know where I can buy the fruit?

I recall seeing this at H-Mart in Burquitlam once, but this was last winter. I can only imagine this is a seasonal imported fruit. Good luck!

According to wiki, Gac is only harvested during Dec and January.
I can try and make a few phone calls on monday to see who has this.
If I was going to bet on it, I'd try some of the bigger vietnamese produce places.
My Tho or Dong Thang on Kingsway or Hen Long in surrey.

Confirmed, Hen Long has this item and it comes in twice a week.
Check with them on Wednesday and sundays.

If you need to ask, then you're probably not likely to speak Canto or venture into Chinatown without a guide?
So I'd say T&T.
I've never bought it there,
but I think it's sitting pretty near to the preserved pork belly, cured duck and lap cheong sausages.
Handy tip,
If you ask in English, and they can't answer you, then they are probably literate in Chinese.
Just show them this and ask them where?
