-just wanna wish a Happy Chinese New Year to everyone on RS who celebrates this holiday on the lunar calendar.

Here's to family dinners, collecting red pockets, and Lion dances. :lawl:

Remember to avoid the traffic chaos and even more shitty drivers in Richmond starting on Chinese New Year's Eve, February 7th. :troll:

Family Day happens to be on February 8th.

It's the Year of the Monkey!

If you are curious about the Chinese Zodiac, here is something about people born in the year of the Monkey:

Chinese Zodiac - The Clever Monkey - Personality Traits (http://www.chiff.com/home_life/holiday/chinese-new-year-monkey.htm)

Years
1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028

Monkey personality traits

Charming, charismatic and extremely inventive, Monkey people are most noted for their intelligence and clever genius in working out difficult problems for themselves and others.

Cheerful and energetic by nature, they attract many friends with their magnetic personality and innate tact and diplomacy which may dissolve into condescension at times. They are impatient when it comes to getting their way, but their anger cools quickly.

Extremely curious and thirsty for knowledge, Monkeys are never happier than when absorbing facts and information and, possessed of a near photographic memory, usually retain all they have learned.

Their inventiveness in tackling thorny problems -- with the greatest of ease -- usually earns them well-deserved admiration and appreciation from business associates, friends and loved ones.

Loyal and devoted to friends, Monkeys are ardent and passionate in romance, but they may quickly lose interest in the object of their affection and seek out another. This general fickleness is also seen in their abandonment of projects if not allowed to immerse themselves in them immediately, and in their eating habits they usually prefer a quick snack during the day rather than sitting down to a full meal.

With their considerable talent and extraordinary originality, Monkeys may enjoy luck and in whatever career they choose, but usually excel as troubleshooters, scientists, researchers or inventors.

Monkeys are compatible with : Dragon, Rat.

Famous people born in the Year of the Monkey: Julius Caesar, Daniel Craig, Bette Davis, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eleanor Roosevelt, Betsy Ross, Diana Ross, Will Smith, Elizabeth Taylor, Harry S. Truman, and Leonardo da Vinci.

I think Gululu is too busy collecting red pockets this weekend to send me back a nasty reply. :troll:

I could be wrong. We shall see.

If I see a crazy driver in a Volvo, maybe that's Gululu? :lawl:

He might crash his car through your house. I hope you have a good insurance policy. Volvos don't break.

Big thanks to Chinese New Year for allowing my birth year to be the Year of the Dragon even though I'm born the year after but in January so I'm still the previous year according to the lunar calender.

Happy Chinese New Year to all that recognize and celebrate it.

Happy chinese new year!

I have a question.

My birthday is tomorrow on chinese new years and its the year of the monkey.
I was born in 1992 which is the year of the monkey.

Does that mean anything? Like extra good luck or something lol.

I don't know if it is good luck or not but according to Chinese law, it states that Gululu must go to your house and jack you off to liberate the spirit of the Monkey.

He also must take 'the offering' on his face otherwise he'll be cursed with bad luck for the remainder of the year.

no red pockets from my family cuz their in Vancouver and my dad finally realized that hes single now after being divorced twice

but i get random $5 red pockets from acquaintance that i have either: just met, not too familiar with, only seen a few times or barely even know

i remember last year, this grandma that plays Ferrari outrun 2 at arcade gave me a random red pocket when my friend went to say hi to her and i was just beside them

All them Chinese people trying to get into the Buddhist temple on Steveston in Richmond is causing a gong show on the entire stretch between No 3 and 4 road. Best to avoid if possible.
