At around 10pm tonight at the Bridgeport Tim Hortons, i was with some RSer's just shooting the shit. we notice a Subaru Sti and a BMW m3 lined up at the intersection westbound on Bridgeport reving waiting for the green light, then my buddy also notice on the opposite side in the turning lane 2 marked police cars waiting on the same light to turn green. Did not expect those to smart gents would to do the unimaginable and proceeded to street race infront of the police, immediately the cops when on the pursuit. The M3 promptly pulled over while the Subby thought it would be slick to evade and turn on the next intersection not awear there was 2 police cars in hot pursuit. pardon my grammer lol

I love how they picked that place of all to do it. I see police coming and going every time I'm there and quite a few staying and shooting the breeze behind the Michael's.

One night I was there in the parking lot drinking my coffee when a guy drives right next to me, stops his car across 3 spots and starts pissing. RCMP lady yells at him through loudspeaker and he gets busted. Had beer cans in the footwell and got the car impounded. Maybe it's something in the coffee there? ;)

I remember a little over a month ago saw a 650 on the intersection of alderbridge and garden city at the red light, police truck was behind him.

On green the 650 just gunned it right down garden city... I think the police was as dumbfounded as any of us, guess he waited a second or two before it sank in and he lit the roof halfway into the intersection and gave chase. I think the 650 was doing well into the triple digits by the cambie intersection... don't think the police had a chance of catching up...

All kinds of weird stuff happens at night, I've seen more than my fair share...

I remember one time when I was the first car in the right lane on Granville at 49th heading towards Richmond.
Behind me was a marked police car and to my left were two 5 litre fox body stangs.
They were reving it and when the light turned green, they took off.
I gunned it just enough that the police car was able cut to the middle lane and light them up.

There was this other time in North Van, I was in the middle lane at a red light, C63 on my left. Police SUV on the opposite side making a left, as soon as the cop crossed the cross, the C63 lit it up blew past the intersection red light all the way up lions gate. The SUV lit up and circled back to give chase.

I saw the same police SUV pull a u turn half way down lions gate... :badpokerface:

About a week ago I was in the left turn lane on Garden City turning onto Westminster Hwy. There was a blacked out Jeep Wrangler to the right of the intersection heading down Westminster Hwy, looked like a white guy driving with ladies in the back. As soon as the light turned green, the Jeep gunned it through the intersection, didn't notice that there was a marked RCMP Explorer right behind him, cop chased him down and pulled him over after No.4. The Jeep was doing well over 100.

Garden City, Westminster Hwy, Alderbridge, always people driving like faggots there. Alexandria and Hazelbridge too, but in different ways. That entire area is a gongshow.

Is there any stories about illegal street racing scenes in this city? When i was younger there was an underground street racing scene in Regina saskatchewen. They'd always rip up and down the road near my house in their POS civics, waking me up at all hours of the night.

there sure are. the main one ended with Constable Ng (spelling) dead when street racers blew through a red light and t-boned him.

not to mention multiple accidents with N drivers with 4 passengers flipping their civics into the ditches in richmond, and all 5 persons drowning. richmond is plagued with street racing from the last 15 years. one of the main reasons ICBC brought in the one friend rule for N drivers

A 2011 BMW M3, such as this one, was pulled over by Richmond Mounties Tuesday night on Bridgeport Road for street racing with a Subaru Impreza

Two Richmond drivers have been ticketed and banned from the road after street-racing along one of the city’s main roads.

The drivers, a 31-year-old and a 20-year-old with a novice license, were caught by police around 10 p.m. on Tuesday racing their powerful 2011 BMW M3 and 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX vehicles westbound along Bridgeport Road, near the Highway 99 off-ramp.

A Richmond Mountie was on patrol when he spotted the vehicles racing along the street. Both vehicles were quickly stopped near Gage and Bridgeport roads, via a coordinated effort from fellow officers.

The drivers were each issued violation ticket for driving without due care and attention and issued an immediate 15-day driving prohibition pending further review. Both vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days.

“Richmond RCMP has zero tolerance for street racing and this has stemmed from the early 2000s when street racing incidents rose throughout the province,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang, of Richmond RCMP.

“What may seem like a few thrilling moments can quickly transform into horror with serious injury or even death. The aftermath of street racing can have lifelong repercussions
