The guy shoplifted a bag of chips and milk, he fled the scene after stabbing the 7-11 owner.
Right into his chest 4 inches. The owner is still in critical condition today

why is this on revscene?

GLOW

So what would the penalty be as hK is part of China now?

I was walking by the 7/11 30 min after the incident.. it looked like a scene straight out of a movie...

GLOW: HK has a 1 Country 2 system policy, it runs it's own set of regulations. If he did that in China, the attacker will receive a death sentence if the 7/11 owner dies.

Maybe they both owed money to loan sharks, so one stabbed the other to pay the debt, then might as well get some milk and chips out of the transaction.

There's no death penalty in HK. Even there was, you can bet on Canadian consulate getting involved as we do not have capital punishment anymore.

Well, the news came out, the suspect was identified as one of the homeless bum near that area. Then the released video shows the guy is a south east Asian. When police caught him saying he is a Vietnamese-Canadian I was like wow...that's like 1st degree murder, he's going to be in prison forever for just a bag of chips.

from my encounters with the vietnamese, they are very hostile people towards the Chinese. I can confidently say they are worse to deal with than Filipinos and Indonesians. Pakistani people are very welcome. Even Indians are OK too, as I worked with many Indian builders. Filipinos, Vietnamese, and Indonesians are very racist and unfriendly to us Chinese.

why is this on revscene?

there's a good chance the alleged attacker is from Vancouver...which would imply someone on here probably knows him.

people in hk raised about CAD300K for the family in 8hrs, but it won't bring a life back.

300k is only enough to get 1/4 of a 450 SQ FT apartment in HK. =/

That's $300k more than the family had before the father died. Good for the people of HK to step and at least give his wife and daughter a chance at life.

I find that Vietnamese people are very neutral to strangers. That can often be perceived as hostile since we are in Vancouver and everyone pretends to be nice.

However, I also noticed that if you have a mutual friend/connection, they are quick to treat you like a part of their 'crew'.
