Love them, but Alfa needs to rebuild their reputation of unreliability before I'd consider one over an m3. I'd bet many people feel the same.

I'm willing to bet the average car buyer will have no idea what the reputation of Alfa Romeo reliability is...

It can't be any worse than German reliability.

Lol@ a German car being as unreliable as an Italian car.

It might be a little bit of a stretch, but reading some of the "common problems" in the CL Good Buys thread I'd hesitate to buy anything that's come from Germany in the last 10 years.

I've owned an Alfa Romeo.

Great cars to drive. Not great to own.

Will still buy. Again. :accepted:

Fiat is one of the least reliable cars out there at the moment:

It can't be any worse than German reliability.
If you think German reliability is bad, you probably haven't seen Italian reliability yet...

BMW isn't exactly the pinnacle of reliability.

I doubt that's a reputation they want to build again. :D

Because I am old, I have owned over 10 M cars and I can tell you, BMW reliability is way better than AMG or RS audis. The only issue major issue I have had with all my M cars was on my E60 M5 when my "red cog of death" light came on (clutch issue on SMG). However, it didn't leave me stranded, just wore the shit out of my clutch. Talk to anyone with AMG cars and Audi RS cars and they tell you their horror stories. The most reliable Italian cars are daily driven Ferraris....Alfa needs to address their poor reliability history like Hyundai did by offering 10yr warranties. Otherwise, Alfa coming back to NA will be a flop again.....

If there is one statement I can make about Italian stuff in general (and trust me, I [have] own[ed] a lot of Italian stuff) it's really good at fucking you over when you least expect it, leaving you stranded.

So here's a post dedicated to one big fuck you to my Vespas, my Rancilio Silvia, my Cinelli, and my Alfa Romeo. But I love(d) them all. :accepted:
