Anyone have one at home? The wife would like one, not really to store expensive stuff like jewelry or anything like that, but more for documents. Just looking for a small one and it must be water/fire proof. I've checked out Canadian tire and home depot, but is there anywhere else I should be looking?
Digital or key? Any recommendations?

I got one off some old lady off CL that was pretty much brand new but she never used it and sold it to me for like 30 bucks. Uses a combination.

Costco usually carries 2 different models which are both pretty highly reviewed
thing with costco is their return policy, i'd pay a little more (which is unlikely with costco) just to be able to use it and return it in a few years lol

My parents use a shoebox-sized lockbox to keep all their important docs and items. They just hide it, somewhere.

I'm trying to figure out a good hiding place. Where do your parents hide it?
Not sure of the specific model or brand, but don't buy the shitty plastic ones as they can be easily pry'd part. Have seen a handful of B&E's where the thieves broke into the safes.

It's a known fact that if crooks had to focus on one room only it's the master and I can bet the majority of people would pick the master to hide their shit because well it's your room. Try the kitchen perhaps b/c I know if i was breaking into your home a place like the kitchen would be one of my last options.
Despite that, shits still in my room lol.

Freezer and Fridge USED to be a good hiding spot. It is fir, water, and earthquake-proof to some extent. Coworker used to put stuff in a ziplock bag in an empty pizza box + glue box shut. Some thieves will go through your pizza boxes
